Chapter 1391

Looking at Janice who was blocking his way, Gary's squinted eyes were filled with blazing flames.

D*mn it, Janice actually had the audacity to follow him to Edinburgh. She was continuouslypestering him shamelessly.

She really came to Edinburgh carrying just a backpack. By the looks of it, she had come alone.

Her presence really haunted him everywhere he went.

Gary did not get out of the car. He just looked at her coldly, disgusted by her sudden appearance.

At that moment, his handsome face was covered with dark clouds. Janice, who was in front of thecar, could feel his wrath clearly, even though there was a windscreen in between the two of them.

Oh no, she was doomed.

Seeing that he did not respond, Janice felt a little bit guilty. She quickly walked over and was readyto open the car door of the passenger seat to get in.

Unexpectedly, before she could touch the door handle, the car flew away at high speed, like anarrow leaving its bow.

Janice almost fell to the ground because of the momentum of the car.

She was bewildered as she watched the car leave. Her eyes widened in shock, and her heart wasbeating incredibly fast as she felt her blood turn cold. She almost got run over by a car.

"Hey!" She stood on the side of the road with her hands on her hips and shouted at the leaving car,"Are you even human?"

The man in the car smirked slightly, and the coldness on the corner of his lips were enough forthose who saw him to shirk away in fear.

"D*mn it, I can't believe he did this to me," Janice growled. She took out her phone in frustration andgave Lowell a call.

"Lowell, your nephew is being so annoying. He has a car but he refuses to give me a ride. He ishiding from me like I'm some kind of disease. I'm alone in England, but he is not taking care of me."

Lowell's voice came from the other end of the line, and he sounded really gentle, "Is that so? I'll givehim a call in a while. Where are you now?"

"I'm alone in Edinburgh. It's so scary," Janice said in a pitiful tone, "He's so mean! Is he evenhuman?"

Lowell was very surprised and asked, "You went to Edinburgh, and he was there as well?"

"Yes," Janice didn't think about anything else and explained bluntly, "I saw him just now. He wasdriving a car, but he didn't offer to fetch me."

"Since he's also in Edinburgh, you won't be alone," Lowell assured her, "Gary enjoys peace andquiet. If you keep messing around with him, he'll probably get annoyed."

"Are you helping him or are you helping me?" Janice pouted bitterly. Finally, she let out a sigh andsaid, "Forget about it. I just called you to complain. You don't need to call him. I can handleeverything myself."

"You really don't need me to give him a call?" Lowell was still very gentle and spoke with a caringtone, "Didn't you say he's in Edinburgh? I'll help you ask around."

"There's no need to," Janice chuckled, "I can handle it by myself. I am not that afraid. Don't worryabout it."

"I'm still quite worried anyway," Lowell was still concerned.

With that, Janice changed the topic, "What are you doing?"

"I'm in the lab." "Oh my, you're so boring. You're always in the lab.

You're no fun." "Well, I don't think so," Lowell's tone was as gentle as ever, just like his personality.

"Oh well, my great scientist, you can continue with your experiments. I'm going to have fun on myown," Janice felt much better after making a call. At the very least, she didn't feel so angry anymore.

Meanwhile, Gary got rid of Janice and continued his drive on the road.

When he received Lowell's call, he picked it up feeling quite annoyed. Needless to say, he knewthat it was Janice who called Lowell.

"Lowell, you'd better not talk to me about Janice," Gary sounded very impatient.

"If you are saying this, you should be aware that you failed as a gentleman," Lowell laughed, "She'sa poor girl stranded in Edinburgh, and she just lost her purse a few days ago. She really could useyour help."

"If you can't take care of your own woman, why are you pushing her to me?" Gary got really irritatedthe moment he thought about her.

"What do you mean 'my woman1?" Lowell raised his tone in an instant, "Don't ever say that."

"If she's not your woman, then why do you care so much about her?" Gary's tone was alsoimpatient, "I have already tried my best to help, and I have done my part. Lowell, please don't

interfere in matters that we can ignore. Just let it be."

"Are you okay?" Lowell was a little surprised at Gary's mood, "You sound really angry."

Gary paused for a moment, but did not say anything.

"Did Janice do something to you?" Lowell asked again.

Gary still remained silent.

"Gary, haven't you always been very rational?" Lowell tried to persuade him, "Janice is a girl andshe's my classmate. If you can help her, please give her a hand. She's all alone in England. She'susually laughing and joking around, but don't be fooled by her appearance. She can be quitesentimental and is actually somewhat pitiful."

"Enough, stop talking," Gary interrupted Lowell's words indifferently, "My bad mood has nothing todo with Janice."

There were some problems he felt that even without Janice, would still exist.

In short, Celeste did not have a sense of security.

For a person who was insecure, it was necessary to give them a sense of security to make themfeel safe.

However, it was obvious that he could not provide

her with it.

"What about Janice then?" Lowell asked.

Gary stopped the car and looked in front with a deep gaze. Something flashed across his eyes andhe finally gave in, "I'll pick her up now."

"Okay, that's great. This is the Gary I know: cold on the outside, but soft-hearted on the inside"

"If Janice doesn't become yours in the end, I'll consider myself a fool for helping you all this while,"Gary hung up the phone after speaking.

Lowell clenched his mobile phone and pursed his lips. He then put down the phone, and continuedhis research.

Meanwhile, Janice held her bag and was getting ready to look for a place to stay. Then, sheplanned to get some food and take a good stroll around Edinburgh.

The scenery here was beautiful and surreal. Life was easy and comfortable here.

As she strolled casually, a car suddenly stopped beside her. She turned around and saw that it wasGary.

After being caught off guard for a second, a smile immediately appeared on Janice's face.

She walked to the passenger seat and opened the door. This time, Gary did not leave her behind.

"Gary, why are you back again?"

"Aren't you very clear why I'm back?" Gary asked her in a cold voice.

Janice was surprised and feigned ignorance, "I'm clear? Why should I? The things you say don'tmake any sense at all."

Gary shot a cold glance at Janice beside him and said in a very icy tone, "Didn't you call Lowellbecause you wanted me to come back and pick you up?"

Janice was stunned for a second, and she burst into laughter.

"Haha," She nodded and admitted, "Yes, I did complain about it to Lowell, but I really didn't expecthim to say anything about it. I regretted telling him about it halfway through the phone call."

"Regret? Do you ever regret anything?" Gary snickered. Once again, it sounded like he wasmocking her.

"Of course, I regret it," Janice sighed, "I shouldn't have complained to Lowell about such a smallmatter. Lowell is so busy, and he spends all his time in the lab, conducting research and doingexperiments. Someone like him shouldn't be bothered by the hustle and bustle of human life. Heshould pay full attention to his research so he can invent something to contribute to our lives."

"In this world, no one is able to disturb Lowell except for you, Janice," Gary's sharp eyes were fixedon Janice, who was next to him. He told her thoughtfully, "Lowell is a very simple person. In hisworld, there are no such things as betrayal and back- stabbing. He is an extremely intelligentperson, and he doesn't want to waste time meddling with such mundane issues. That's why hestarted researching."

"Janice, you know Lowell is a simple person, so don't take advantage of his feelings. Otherwise, ifhe gets hurt and can't conduct research anymore, you'll be an enemy to the entire human race."

"Hey, what nonsense are you talking about?" Janice frowned, "Don't scare me. I know Lowell betterthan you. Unlike you, he doesn't have a bad temper."novelbin

"It looks like you aren't interested in Lowell," Gary said indifferently, "After we return to Boston, Ihope that you will stay away from him."

Hearing this, Janice's eyebrows creased into a frown. She said, "I don't want to. Lowell and I arebest friends. When I first met him, you weren't even in the United States yet. Gary, who do you think

you are? How dare you give me orders?" "You can shut up now," Gary did not want to waste histime talking to her.

"Okay, then let's stop talking about this. Where are we going? Shall we go and look for your sister?"Janice said excitedly, "Your sister would be really happy to see you, right?"

Upon mentioning Celeste, Gary cast a deep gaze outside the window. His eyes were filled withdarkness, and it took him a while to regain his senses. He started the car and headed straight to thehotel where Celeste was at.
