Chapter 1257

An hour later.

Ernest returned.

After he came in, he sat down in his seat and started reading a book quietly.

Celeste looked at him several times, but Ernest was very calm the entire time. He didn't even lookat her once.

She finally looked for him after class, "Ernest."

"Celeste?" Ernest raised his head and gave her a smile, "What's up?"

"Has your brother left?" Celeste still asked, but she couldn't stop her face from blushing afterwards.

Ernest's gaze landed on her face seamlessly. He nodded and said, "Yes, he just left. I sent him offthis morning."

"I see," Celeste nodded and smiled at Ernest. Then, she turned around and walked back to herseat.

During class, she was pretty much distracted the whole time.

In the next few days, there was no news about Gary.

Until four days later.

Celeste finally heard about Gary's updates from Maria.

That day, Maria had come to see her and told her secretly, "Gary has adjusted himself to the newtiming in the United States. He just called me to let me know that he's doing fine and coping well."

"He called you?" Celeste was dumbfounded. "When?"

"Last night," Maria said, "He allocated some time to give me a call."

Maria looked at Celeste's eyes as she spoke as if she was trying to look for clues on her face.

Celeste was stunned almost in an instant. She pursed her lips and kept quiet.

Maria looked at her with a glimmer in her eyes.

Her big eyes flickered, and she laughed immediately, "Celeste, did Gary give you a call?"

Celeste shook her head and said, "No, why would he do that?"

Maria shrugged and laughed, "You're right. He wouldn't have to as there's nothing between you two, right?"

Celeste nodded, "Yeah, there's nothing between us anyway."

Maria laughed and said with a hidden meaning, "That's right. I actually wanted to share his newphone number with you, but now that you have said that, I think I can forget it."

Celeste asked immediately, "Did you just say that you have his new phone number?"

"Yeah, the number to his residence," Maria added.

Celeste wanted to ask for it, but for some reason, she didn't know how to.

"Celeste, do you want it?" Maria knew Celeste would naturally want the number, and she would alsogive it to her anyway. But she couldn't help but want to tease Celeste for a bit.

Celeste hesitated for a moment and nodded, "Yeah, share it with me."

"So you're saying, you're going to give him a call?" Maria asked, "Is that right?"

Celeste was taken aback. Her face turned slightly red, and she said, "I'll call him later."

"You should call him," Maria said, "Look, you were supposed to go to the United States with him, butyou changed your mind halfway through, so in the end he had to go there alone. Don't you think youshould call him to apologize?"

Celeste was a little surprised, "Do you really think it's my fault?"

"Yes," Maria nodded, "Aren't you wrong?"

Celeste opened her mouth. Fine.

This was Maria's recognition and freedom.

However, was she really in the wrong?

"Here, his phone number," Maria sent it to Celeste through Whatsapp, "He's available at night. Keepin mind the time difference, or you might not be able to reach him."novelbin

Celeste nodded.

Despite getting his phone number, Celeste still didn't give him a call.

Another three days passed.

Maria received a call from Gary.

"Maria, did you share my number with Celeste or not?"

As soon as Maria heard that, she immediately pouted and protested, "Of course, I did. Are you notconfident with the way I do things? But there's nothing I can do if she doesn't want to call you.Judging from what you said, she probably didn't give you a call."

"You don't say," Gary said with a deep tone, "If she had given me a call, I wouldn't need to ask youabout it."

"There's nothing I can do. It's not like I can control her actions, can I?" Maria said, "What now? What if you give her a call instead?" Gary remained silent.

"Gary, why are you being so pretentious? If you miss her, tell her; if you like her, confess. Why mustyou hide your feelings like this? Celeste is innocent and clueless. So if you continue to act like this, she's not going to be yours," Maria had never seen a guy like him, "How are you going to end upwith her if you don't confess?"

She thought that Gary would retort, but he sighed instead. After a long while, he said, "You don'tunderstand."

Maria rolled her eyes, "Yeah, I really don't understand why you have to be so pretentious."

"Ask her what's going on," Gary urged.

"Okay, I know," Maria said helplessly, "I'm only responsible for asking her. If she still decides not tolook for you, it's not my fault."

"Just ask her," Gary was also very gracious, "I won't blame you no matter the outcome."

Maria muttered, "I have to hand it to the both of you. Look at yourself. I'm doubting if you can pullthrough until you graduate in the United States with the way you are now."

Gary paused.

"Gary, you still have a lifetime." Maria said matter-of-factly, "You better think carefully. Now that youhaven't enrolled yourself yet, why don't you change your mind and come to England instead?"

"No way," Gary said in a deep voice.

"Continue to be stubborn then," Maria said with a sneer.

"Don't forget what I asked you to help me with."

"I know," Maria hung up the phone impatiently.

The next day, she looked for Celeste and went straight to the point, "Celeste, did you call Gary?"

Celeste shook her head and said, "No."

"Why didn't you call him despite asking for his number?" Maria clapped her hands and lamented atCeleste's honesty.

"I don't know what to say," Celeste answered honestly, "I really don't know what to say."

"Ugh!" Maria had the impulse to roll her eyes again, "Ask him how he is doing in the United States.Or you can ask if he misses you."

Celeste widened her eyes, "How could I ask that?" "Don't you want him to think of you?" Maria saidin displeasure, "He told me that he misses you a lot." "No, that's not true," Celeste rebutted, "Hedefinitely wouldn't say such a thing."

She understood Gary well enough to know that he wouldn't say something like that.

Therefore, Maria was definitely joking.

"You know him quite well, don't you?" Maria winked at her, "Although he wouldn't say that out loud,he is certainly showing it through his actions and emotions. Trust me, he really misses you a lot, sowhy don't you give him a call?"

Celeste's eyes trembled, and she coughed gently before saying, "If he really misses me, shouldn'the give me a call instead?"

Maria was taken aback. She widened her eyes and looked at Celeste.

Celeste still looked like an innocent girl.

"Celeste, not bad, you've learned a lot," Maria had no choice but to relay her message to Gary.
