Chapter 1255

Ernest, who hadn't spoken the entire time, frowned slightly upon being called out. However, hesmiled immediately after.

"Maria, studying abroad is something you have to consider carefully before making any decisions. Iagree with Uncle Zachary that you should go home and think it through first instead of acting onimpulse like this."

"I've made up my mind already," Maria said, "I'm serious about studying in England, but Ernest, yousound as if you're not very happy with my decision."

Shaking his head, Ernest smiled and said, "You're thinking too much, Maria. I really don't think it's agood idea for you to make such a rash decision."

"Ernest Jones," Maria stared at him in anger, "Don't think that I don't know what's going throughyour mind. I'm telling you now that I'm going to England for sure."

"Maria, if you're firm on your decision, I'll take care of you once we're in England," Ernest remainedcalm without raising his voice at all.

Heinz and Zachary realized that things had suddenly gotten tense between these teenagers. EvenYvonne and Grace could tell that something was off as if there was a secret among them that wasunbeknownst to the adults.

Grace exchanged a look with Yvonne.

Yvonne spoke, "Maria, even if you really wish to study in England, we still have to go home and talkabout it first."

"Mommy, I really want to go there," Maria insisted.

"Maria, maybe you should go back and discuss with Uncle Zachary and Aunt Yvonne first," Garysaid, "I believe that they are open-minded parents who won't interfere with your future and your life. After all, it's your life and not theirs, so they won't be able to override you when it comes to making adecision."

Gary's words put Zachary and Yvonne in a tight spot. For a while, neither of them spoke anything.

Zachary nodded slightly towards Heinz and Grace, then entered his car.

Maria had no choice but to leave as well.

Her gaze remained fixed on Gary, as if he was her lifesaver.

Gary's expression remained indifferent the whole time.

After they left, Heinz and Grace went back inside, whereas Gary and Ernest remained outsidewithout rushing to enter.

"Gary, you look like you already knew about Maria's decision before this," Ernest spoke steadily.

Gary smiled and said, "Why? Don't you want Maria to go to England?"

Ernest gazed into Gary's eyes, "It's not up to me to decide if she goes or not."

"That's right. So, this is Maria's decision. What does it have to do with me?" Gary entered the houseafter he said that.

Looking at his back, Ernest smiled slightly and walked into the house as well.

Late at night.

The Jones family home was quiet.

Everyone went to bed after cleaning up the mess from the banquet.

Dressed in a set of black clothes, Gary walked out of his room.

"Gary, where are you going?" Ernest asked slowly. His door also opened. He stood at the doorway, looking at Gary, who was walking downstairs.

Gary stopped in his tracks and turned to look at Ernest. He smiled and answered, "Ernest, whyaren't you in bed at a time like this?"

"Are you going out?" Ernest chose not to answer his question as well.

Gary smiled and said, "Yes, I'm going out."

"You're leaving tomorrow," Ernest reminded.

"That's exactly why I have to settle some affairs before I leave," Gary answered indifferently and asa spark flashed across his eyes, "Do you want to come with me?"

Ernest smiled and looked at him with gloomy eyes. Then, he shook his head and said, "I'll pass, it'stoo late, and I still have class tomorrow."

Gary shrugged and left.

Ernest also closed his door.

Gary went to the hotel. When he arrived, he was informed that Celeste had left.

She left as soon as the rain stopped.

Gary frowned and wondered where she had gone.

At such an hour, she had probably gone back to her place. Had the paparazzi all left because of theheavy rain?

He was worried, so he took a taxi to Celeste's place.

When he arrived, he saw from a distance that the lights were on in her place. She was home.

She had returned to her place after all.

Gary got out of the car and asked the taxi driver to leave.

He stood under a tree for a long time with no intention of leaving.

Upstairs.

Celeste buried herself in the sofa after she came back. She could still feel Gary's scent on her lips,as if she could never get rid of his warmth.

As she thought about it, Celeste blushed so much that her face was red and hot, akin to a chili.

She buried her face in her palms as she let out a cry.

His strong hands, heavy breathing, and fierce teeth were still lingering in her mind.

They fell on her body like the eruption of a volcano, overflowing with so much magma that theycould start as many fires as they wished.

No.

How did it turn out like this?

She couldn't stop herself from thinking despite her efforts to not think about it. Every time shethought about it, she would breathe so nervously as if she was suffering from a lack of oxygen.

She got up from the sofa and walked towards the floor-to-ceiling window to open it, hoping to getsome fresh air.

Outside, it was pitch black and soundless.

She stood by the window and watched the night sky after the heavy rain.

The stars were blinking.

The night sky had already cleared up.

Downstairs, a tall figure hid in the shadows and looked up at the girl by the window. The way shelifted her head to look at the sky was very demure and beautiful.

He just smiled and remained silent.

Celeste stood by the window for a while before she returned to her room.

The window was left open.

Gary picked up his phone and sent a message, "Close your window."

Upon receiving the message, Celeste was so shocked that she couldn't believe what she had justread.

She rubbed her eyes hard and read the message clearly, then ran to the window immediately tomake a phone call.

There was no ringtone, but she saw a blue light flashing in the shadows downstairs.

That light was like the brightest existence amidst the dark night.

The phone call went through.

She asked hurriedly, "Gary?"

"Mm," Gary's voice was very low and deep.

"Are you downstairs?" Celeste asked with uncertainty.

Gary did not answer her.novelbin

"Is it you?" She was getting anxious and wanted to go downstairs.

"Don't move," Gary's voice rang out, "Just stay where you are."

Celeste stopped moving and stared at that blue light in a daze. Beneath the light, she could see thehandsome, cold face.

"You... Come upstairs," She wanted to ask him why he had kissed her.

"No," Gary rejected her.

Celeste asked again, "Why?"

"I'm afraid that I won't be able to hold myself back if I go up," Gary explained. His voice and wordscaused a ripple in her heart which couldn't be calmed down.

She didn't dare to speak, but her breathing revealed her emotions.

Gary spoke again, "Celeste, now that we're parting ways, I have no idea when we will be able tomeet

again."

Celeste felt her heart tighten. Indeed, she had no idea when they would be able to meet again.
