Chapter 1231
Celeste passed by Gary and she seemed calm and indifferent.
The moment Gary heard that she was going to look for Ernest, his entire body stiffened and achilling aura erupted from his body.
In an instant, everyone surrounding him could feel the cold aura he was emanating.
Maria couldn't help but quiver.
However, Celeste had already left.
"Celeste! Celeste!" Maria hastily shouted.
Gary's gaze instantly met Maria's.
She quieted down instantly.
Celeste was gone.
Maria shrugged and stared at Gary's livid expression. A touch of schadenfreude flashed across hersmall face.
She sighed loudly, "Gary, don't assume that I don't know what you're thinking. Even if you havesuccessfully lured Ernest to England, it doesn't mean that you will necessarily get what you want."
Gary squinted at her. Having flashbacks of Celeste looking for Ernest, he suddenly turned gloomy.
She cared about Ernest.
The fact that she cared about someone changed a lot. Usually, her intentions were pure andheartfelt.
However, Gary was aware of what her heartfelt concern could mean.
"See, Celeste cares so much for Ernest," Maria reminded him, "Being apart doesn't mean that thedistance between hearts will increase. Gary, don't let that beauty become your potential sister-in-law. This would be so pitiful."
Maria grinned. Her small face was filled with excitement and she was not the slightest bit afraid ofGary's cold glare. Instead, she became even more pleased as she commented, "Personally, I stillthink that Ernest is more suitable for her. Ernest is kind, caring and not hypocritical. He has all thetraits of a perfect boyfriend. Who would want to look for a boyfriend who is awkward andhypocritical? Isn't this just looking for trouble?"
"Maria Lowe," Gary glared at Maria.
"Yes, this is the exact expression that'll scare her off," Maria pointed at him and shouted, "If youthreaten me like this, I won't help you. I might help you if you treat me better."
Gary squinted at her, his gaze growing even
sharper.
"Don't glare at me. You can't change anything by glaring at me." Maria pointed at him and said, "Ihave made up my mind, I want to help Ernest. After all, Celeste is also my friend and Ernest is stillmy cousin. So there is no need for me to help you. You always threaten me, and it's so frustrating."
Gary's livid face did not even flinch after being threatened. His sharp eyes met Maria's and his voicesank slightly as he threatened her, "Mind your own business. Otherwise, I won't forgive you even ifyou bring your father up."
"I'm going to help Ernest!" Maria shot back, "The look in your eyes makes it so obvious that you arefrightened."
Gary just continued shooting daggers at her. After staring at her for a while, he turned around andleft.
Maria shouted from behind, "Say something nice, and maybe I'll change my mind and help you!"
However, Gary answered her by turning his back towards her and leaving.
His back was broad and upright.
Maria pursed her lips and sighed. She muttered to herself in dejection, "You're so annoying andawkward. It's easier to talk to Ernest."
Meanwhile, Celeste found Ernest, who was in the yogurt stall outside of the school.
Ernest was drinking yogurt.
Celeste quickly walked over and bought some yoghurt as well. After paying for it, she drank it whilestaring at Ernest.
However, Ernest had already turned around and was about to leave.
He was really avoiding her.
Celeste was stupefied. It seemed that Maria was right.
She quickly caught up with him and stood in front of Ernest, stopping him in his tracks.
Ernest was taken aback and looked at Celeste. There was a hint of surprise in his eyes, and thenthere was a smile on his handsome and elegant face.
"Celeste, is that you?" He greeted Celeste casually as if he had just seen her, "Sorry, I didn't seeyou just now. Are you also drinking yogurt?"
He really liked yogurt because of its sour and sweet taste.
"Ernest Jones," Celeste laughed in response, "I'm sure you saw me from afar. Do you think I'mannoying?"
Ernest blinked and he quickly shook his head,
"No, you're not. I like to talk to you."
"Then why did you avoid me when you saw me on the field just now?" Celeste didn't care whatErnest was thinking and asked him directly, "Why are you going to England to pursue your studies?"
"I like the culture there," Ernest smiled and answered, "Do I have to tell you the reason? Celeste,are you joking with me?"
"Ernest, I already know everything," Celeste was still the same as she stared straight into his eyes.She has a habit of not avoiding eye contact since she knew that this was the way to detect ifsomeone was lying.
Ernest didn't avoid her gaze either. They stared at each other for a while before Ernest chuckled,"What do you know?"
He didn't show any signs of panicking even after his secret was discovered.
The pair of twins were really always full of surprises.
"I know that it's not your choice to go to England, and I know the reason behind it too. You choseEngland because you two were drawing lots," Celeste said everything in one breath, "You neverreally thought of going to England in the first place."
Ernest did not refute her. He admitted it generously and nodded, "Yes, you're right. I had intended togo to the United States before, but I changed my mind. After giving it some thought, the both of usagreed that I will go to England, while Gary will go to the United States."
"Why were you drawing lots?"
"Why can't we?" Ernest smirked and said with a hint of playfulness, "Why are you asking? How didyou know about this?"novelbin
Celeste was puzzled by his attitude, "It doesn't matter how I found out. I just don't understand. Thethree of us can go to the United States together. Why did you change your mind and make such adecision?"
"It's more fun if you don't understand why. If you suddenly realize it one day, things won't be funanymore," Ernest smiled thoughtfully, "This is the conclusion Gary and I arrived at. We will beresponsible for our own actions. Celeste, just follow my brother to the United States. I'll visit you twowhen I'm free."
Yet, Celeste still refused to give up, "Ernest, you should change your itinerary. I can wait for you.Let's go together."
"You're willing to wait for me?" Ernest was stunned for a moment. Emotions flashed through hiseyes as he chuckled, "Then all the documents for your trip this time will be voided."
"I can get it approved again. If you can change, so can I. What do you think?" Celeste seemed to bevery persistent and insisted on persuading Ernest.
Ernest smiled. His eyes were gleaming as he laughed, "Look, Celeste, why don't you come toEngland with me? Haven't you considered this before?"
"England?"
Celeste was dumbfounded.
"What do you think? If you decide to go to England, then we can go together."
"But, what about Gary?" Celeste frowned, "Can't the three of us go somewhere together?"
"You'll just have to tell my brother," Ernest shrugged, "Tell him that you want me to go to the UnitedStates, while I'm hoping you can come to England with me. I am almost certain that he will definitelyaccompany you to England if you say so."
"Why?" Celeste didn't understand.
Ernest chuckled, "You're really cute and naive!"
