Chapter 1230

Back in the classroom.

It was time for the seniors to have their lab class.

When Celeste returned to the classroom, she heaved a sigh of relief. She swore that she could stillhear the echoes of the phone call.

Gary had told her on the phone, "It's nothing, it's just a date. Since we are still in the country, weshould go on a date, or else we might regret it."

Hearing these words, Celeste's heart started to thump wildly. A date?

Wasn't this exclusive to couples?

A date?

They were schoolmates and had just known each other for half a year. It was just a coincidence thatboth of them skipped grades and they were sent to study in the United States together.

And now a date?

Weirdly, she was even looking forward to the date.

"Celeste, Celeste."

A voice interrupted Celeste's chain of thouqhts.

She turned around and saw Maria Lowe standing in the corridor.

In a trance, she regained her composure and hurriedly said, "Hey, Maria, what are you doing here?"

"I saw that you weren't around, so I went looking for you. What were you thinking about just now?You looked like you were in a daze."

"Oh, nothing," Celeste shook her head and said, "I was about to enter the classroom. I'll be headingabroad next week, are you sure you don't want to follow?"

Maria shook her head and shrugged, "I'm not going to skip grades. I might feel very lonely, but I doagree with my father's point of view. You can't enjoy the three years of your senior high if you skipgrades. I think it's such a waste."

Celeste pursed her lips and nodded slightly, "Well, your dad does have a point. Life is just socomplicated and everyone has their thoughts about how to live their lives. It's fine if you don't skipgrades, just continue to be yourself.'"

"Why do I feel like I'm going to regret it after listening to your explanation?" Maria's pretty face had asly look on it as she grinned, "Hey, I heard that my cousins initially didn't want to skip grades, butwhen they heard that you are skipping grades, they immediately decided to do the same too."

Celeste was stupefied, and a trace of shyness flashed across her face. Her face was also a littleflushed. She avoided eye contact and shook her head, "I didn't know. Is that true?"

Maria blinked, and her eyes lit up. She looked very smart as she commented, "Of course it is! Iknow my cousins very well. They are smart and fast learners. Initially, the three of us were havingso much fun together, but once you said that you wanted to go abroad, they immediately decided togo abroad too."

"But I thought Ernest was going to England," Celeste retorted immediately.

Maria burst into laughter, "About that, do you really think that Ernest is really willing to go toEngland?"

"Does he not like it there?" To Celeste, the reason behind a decision was either because they wereinterested to do so, or they were forced to. Most of the time, people would do something because oftheir interest, but going abroad was something she was forced to.novelbin

She couldn't continue to stay in the country. She did not want to bring down her mother since Cindyhad quite a reputation in the entertainment industry. If Cindy did not want Celeste to be seen inpublic, she would have no choice but to leave.

Otherwise, it would be extremely exhausting for her.

"Ernest had no choice but to go to England," Maria answered bluntly, "I am quite sure of it."

"You're sure?" Celeste pulled Maria to the side immediately. When the two of them were finallyalone, Celeste asked in a low voice, "What's going on? Tell me."

"Ernest and Gary drew lots, and Ernest picked to be sent to England. I know that they did so to beseparated, and I would assume that the reason is because of you."

"How is this possible?"

"They are a pair of fraternal twins. Don't you think that they share the same interest? Think about it,Ernest often bickers with you and refutes you. But since he decided to go to England, he is literallyhiding from you. Think about it, am I correct?"

Celeste was dumbfounded for a moment. When she gave it some thought, she suddenly found thatsome things were indeed different from before.

She recalled what happened moments ago when they were in the field. The twins were having aconversation but the moment she arrived, Ernest left from the other exit.

Was he trying to avoid her?

Celeste was a little puzzled.

After listening to Maria's explanation, she also realized it herself.

However, was this the truth?

Why was he avoiding her?

"From your expression, I can see that you've thought of something as well. Now that you've given itsome thought, it's quite strange right?"

"However, it's completely unnecessary," Celeste frowned and she was visibly puzzled, "Why can't allof us study together? We can look after each other. We are going to a foreign country after all. Isn'tit better if we were to go together?"

"It's great if it's a guy and a girl, but don't you find it weird for two guys and one girl to take care ofeach other?" Maria questioned her back.

Celeste nodded instinctively, "Is there anything bad about that? We are all classmates. I think it'sjust great."

"Oh my God," Maria exclaimed and put one hand on her forehead, looking speechless.

"Is it really that weird?" Celeste was also confused, "If the pair of twins do not hate each other, whydo they have to draw lots just to study separately?" "It's all because of you," Maria stared at Celesteseriously and explained, "I'm already being very frank with you, Ernest and Gary have both fallen foryou, however, only one of them can stay by your side."

"Both of them have fallen in love with me?" Celeste was frozen to the very core and frowned, "I alsolike them both equally. What's the matter with that?"

Maria was stupefied. This time, she was so bewildered that she looked like she was going to passout.

Her eyes were full of astonishment.

Maria's face was full of disbelief and frustration. For someone like Celeste who was immersed in herstudies and did not bother about anything else, was it really good for her to not understand anythingabout the relationship between a male and female?

"Oh fine, I'm not going to explain it to you anymore. It's too exhausting," Maria decided to shut hermouth. She no longer tried to explain to this dumb girl who didn't even understand falling in love.

"Why? I'm going to ask Ernest then. Everyone is having a blast. If he was forced to go to England, how boring would it be for him? Life is not worth taking risks on things he doesn't like."

"Oh," Maria took a few deep breaths and stared at Celeste in dejection. She gritted her teeth andsaid, "This is retribution, Gary always bullies me. Now, he has found a girl who has no idea whatlove is. He is definitely going to suffer."

"Maria Lowe."

Suddenly, a cold male voice rang out from the corner.

Maria's shoulders collapsed and her entire body stiffened. She turned to look at the person who hadarrived, only to see a tall figure standing there staring at her and Celeste. When he looked at her,his gaze was sharp and cruel. However, when he looked at Celeste, his gaze was gentle and asbright as the stars in the night sky.

Maria curled her lips and snorted, "Gary, what are you doing here?"

"What are you doing?" Gary shot back as he walked over.

Maria stuck her neck out and retorted, "Why are you interfering in our business?"

Celeste looked at Gary. When she met Gary's sharp gaze, her entire body stiffened. She thensmiled and said, "You guys carry on. I'm going to look for Ernest."

After saying that, she left, not giving Gary and Maria any chance to speak.
