Chapter 512

The three of them all turned their eyes unanimously to Madelyn She answered, “He left.”

Mya asked, “When will he come bark

Mya grumbled in her heart, “He took my lollipop during the last basketball game, promising to return it.But he still hadn’t.‘

“I’m not sure Maybe Forrest will come back when his mom recovers from her illness.”

Lem shrugged. “Once he left, Ken had it tough. Admirers filled his desk with love letters. To avoid them,he rarely goes to class now”

They strolled for half an hour. Madelyn’s phone in her pocket rang when the time just passed eighto’clock. The mood of their conversation suddenly became quiet

Seeing the caller ID, Madelyn answered the phone. “My gathering is over. Just come to the school gateto pick me up.”

“Yes, I’ll wait for you. Be careful on the way.” After a few short sentences, Madelyn hung up.

“I should get going,” she said.

Lem said, “We’ll accompany you to the school. After you leave, we’ll send Mya back.”novelbin

Mya quickly waved her hand. “It’s okay, I can take a taxi by myself. It’s late now. I don’t want to botheryou guys.”

Lem showed concern. “It’s not safe for a girl to go alone. I happen to have a car. So we can go backtogether.”

Madelyn advised her, “Just take Kennedy’s car. Otherwise, I’ll be worried.”

Mya nodded, “Okay.”

Kennedy’s car happened to be parked right at the school gate. As they approached, there were fewpeople at the school entrance. Suddenly, a panicked cry for help echoed not far away.

“Help! Help me!”

Duncan Knox, dressed in rags, resembling a beggar, emerged from a thicket. His body was covered inblood, and he dragged a broken leg that seemed freshly fractured. “Help me. Someone’s trying to killme!”

Mya was so scared that she hid behind Madelyn, “Y–You… Why are you coming to us instead ofcalling the cops?”

Madelyn squinted at Duncan and felt that he looked somewhat familiar. She vaguely recalled havingseen him somewhere before.

Duncan panicked and kept glancing in the direction behind him. He had a crippled leg and was veryweak

A few black cars pulled up in front of them within a few minutes. Several people got out, each holding acontrolled weapon, giving off an unmistakable aura of organized crime. One of them had his facecovered with a black cloth and approached them. When he got closer, they could see the scar over hiseye.

Suddenly, a few familiar scenes flashed through Madelyn’s mind. ‘I remember now. He’s the personZach had been looking for.

In her previous life, she was sound asleep in the master bedroom upstairs on a rainy night. Suddenly, ascream around midnight awakened her. So she walked down the stairs and quietly stood at thestaircase landing on the first floor.

She saw Zach in a sinister aura, crushing someone under his foot. Then, he held a needle, sewing theperson’s mouth shut, with blood dripping from the thread. It seemed the person had seen her then andcontinuously pleaded for her help.
