Chapter 1202

Chapter 1202

After the brutal torture, Blake lay on the ground, barely clinging to life,

her eyes closed in exhaustion. She coughed up blood and eventually

lost consciousness.

As time passed, Cecilia grew impatient after not receiving the response she expected. Standing up,novelbin

she stepped on Blake’s chest and began taking pictures of the injured Blake on the ground.

An overweight man commented, “This woman’s tough. She didn’t beg for mercy even once. But if she

dies, we’ll be in some legal trouble,

ma’am.”

“Don’t worry, she’s not dead yet,” Cecilia reassured him.

At that moment, a skinny man received an urgent message. “We’ve got a traitor among us. Our

location’s been leaked to the police, and

they’re on their way.”

With the police closing in, the criminals, who were already on the

wanted list, began to panic.

“You guys take her with you,” Cecilia ordered, still hoping Kevin

wouldn’t abandon Blake.

In a cold, damp basement, Blake lay unconscious, tasting a bitter

flavor in her mouth as she drifted in and out of consciousness. She

had been comatose for three days. The men Cecilia sent had force-

fed her some medication, but her condition hadn’t improved. Despite

the blankets, an unrelenting chill pervaded her body.

A man, frustrated at the sight of the half-dead Blake, took a swig of

liquor and smashed the glass in anger. “Damn it! Cecilia just dumped her here, that wretched woman. If

this one dies, she’ll get away clean.”

“Boss, if it comes to that, we should drop her off at a hospital. Cecilia hasn’t paid us, and we’re stuck

caring for this sick girl. It’s not worth it! We’d better not get played by that damn woman,” another man

suggested.

The leader waved dismissively. “Fine. Tonight, we’ll dump her at the hospital. After that, her fate is her

own.”

At 2 a.m., under a storm-threatening sky, a white van stopped and discarded Blake, treated like trash,

on the road near a hospital.

Exiting the hospital, Olivia assisted Liam, who had been hospitalized for overwork and a stomach

bleed. Despite their recent argument over copyright issues, Olivia could not abandon her longtime

friend

and successful author.

“Where’s your assistant? Why have you been working alone?” Olivia

inquired.

“Thanks for your help,” Liam replied, withdrawing his hand and

walking slowly.

Olivia joked, “How about a ten-year copyright deal as a thank you?”

“Okay,” Liam agreed without hesitation.

“Really?” Olivia expressed her surprise. “I’ll have them prepare the

contract renewal right away.”

She immediately called her office to prepare the contract renewal, knowing that everyone was driven

by benefits, and Liam could not refuse after Olivia’s support.

Suddenly, Liam noticed a figure lying on the ground. Olivia tried to

dissuade him, “That looks like a victim of the mafia. It’s best not to get involved.”

Liam replied coldly, “You don’t have to follow, then.”

Approaching the figure, he froze. “Blake?”

Shortly thereafter, an emergency team quickly arrived, rushing Blake

to the emergency room.
