Chapter 47 – Meeting Valerie

I am pacing the floor nervously, waiting for my dad to come back with Liam and Valerie. I have been so

The front door opens, and I stop up waiting when they enter the living room. Liam walks over to me
while my dad stays next to Valerie. She looks incredibly old, with shiny white hair and wrinkles on her
hands and her face, her golden eyes look around and stop when they reach me. She smiles softly and
comes over to me.
“The last time I saw you, you were only a little girl.” She says softly and smiles. I look at her surprised.
“Have we met before?” I ask
“Oh yes. I was looking for a way to keep your mothers secret safe. Sadly, I didn‘t make it before it was
too late.” I look at her, not knowing what I should say. She comes close and looks into my eyes.
“Can I?” she asks looking at my still flat belly.”
“How you know?” I ask shocked. And she laughs softly.
“You are glowing my child.” She says and ! nod my head at her.
Valerie softly put her hands on my belly, and I can feel the warmth from her hands. But just as fast asnovelbin
she touched me, she remove her hands smiling.
“You
are not far along, and a normal doctor can‘t tell you much. Are you planning to know the gender?” she a
sks I nod my head and she smiles.
“The pup you are carrying. Will be a strong King just like his father.” With that telling us that I am carryin
g Liam‘s first biological son, and heir. I look at him and he smiles big. And is about to say something wh
en Valerie speaks again.
“And this
child does not carry the blessing, or should we call it the curse, that lives in your family blood.” I let go o
f the breath I have been holding back.
“But my daughter does,” I whisper.
“Can you… Can you help us keep her safe?” I ask her, my voice breaking a little, she nods her head.
“I think I can. And it will work better because she is so young.
LIAM
Laura and I lock eyes and I know we are thinking the same. We need her help, we need to
protect our little princess. We look at Valerie and I ask her.
“What do you need from us?” Whatever it is, whatever it takes I will make sure she has it. Zara might n
ot b e mine by blood, but for
me, she and Zach are just as much mine as the unborn pup. Valerie looks at me. 1
“I already have almost everything that I need. The only thing I need is a source that has energy and po
wer enough to keep the spell going.”
“What kind of source?” I ask her.
“It can be anything really but needs to be something she can carry with her. Some I can put the
spell into.

After a while I am leaving the

she instantly grabs onto me. Zara and Zach might not be my biological kids, but god I love them as if
they were.
Little Zara doesn’t seem to
want to go back to sleep, so I take her teddy bear and some toys and bring her with me
to my office. I mindlink Mack telling him to come to meet me, and it doesn‘t take long before he enters.
He laughs a little seeing me sitting on the floor with Zara.
“Hey, buddy. You are looking cozy down there.” I chuckle
“This princess didn‘t want to sleep and didn‘t want to wake up Laura.”
“It‘s all good, this looks good on you.” I laugh and stand up.
“I need you to make sure the leading warriors know that I have granted access to a Witch. She is comin
g t o see if she can help us protect the little princess here.” I tell him.
“Okay, I will make that happen right away.” He tells me and I nod.
Mack leaves and I go back to sit with Zara when Laura mindlinks me.
‘Is Zara with you.‘
‘Yes, my Queen. She was awake so took her with me to the office. I will bring her right up.‘ I tell her.
I take her up from the floor and we walk upstairs again. We find Laura and Zack in the nursery and she

when I come in carrying Zara. We help each other bathing the twins, and get them dressed before goin
g downstairs. Sitting here with everyone makes me realize that I have finally gotten the family I always
wished for and needed. And I can‘t wait to see it expand.

the living room.
“I might have just the thing we can use.” Mom takes what appears to be a bracelet out of her pocket.
“This bracelet is an old heirloom given to the oldest girl in my family. As I never got a daughter, I had
been thinking about giving it to Laura. But this is made of gold and the 3 stones are crystals.” Valerie
comes close and looks at the bracelet.
“These crystals are also very powerful and often seen as protection stones. The 2 black ones are black
tourmalines that shield you from bad energy and the one in the middle is smoky quartz that gives a sort
o f invisibility. Which is perfect for the spell.” Mom smiles big.
“And the links be removed and put back as she grows so it always fit.” She shows us how
easy it will be to fit it to the right size.”
“Perfect.” Valerie looks happy. But then also a little bit nervous.
“I do need one last thing. And I know as her parents you
might not like this. But I need a tiny little drop of her
blood to link the spell to her. That way it will be stronger and work better.” She looks at us with worried
eyes. I mindlink Laura.
‘Baby? What do you think?‘ I look at her and she looks back.
I think we can trust her my instinct tells me she doesn‘t want to harm Zara.‘l nod my head
‘I agree. And so does shadow, he says he gets an almost divine sense of white pure power from her.‘
‘Yes, Kali says the same.‘ Laura looks at Valerie.
“Okay, we trust
that you don‘t want to harm her. Will it be enough with a drop from a finger taken with a poker a
needle?” Laura asks her. Valerie bows her head respectfully.
“Yes, that will be more than enough.” She smiles. And Laura nods.
“What is your price?” | ask. And she looks at me.
“I don‘t need anything. When this is done, I will try to find a peaceful place to live. I am an old woman.”
“We have a cottage close to the border farthest away. It has not been used in many years. But
it has everything needed. If you want it, it is yours.” I tell her and I see the shock in her eyes.
“You would let a witch live on your land?” she asks still shocked. And I understand why she is. Not man
y if any at all would let a witch live in their pack. But I sense that Valerie is different.
“Not just any witch. But I sense your honesty and the goodness in you. So yes.” She nods and smiles.
“Thank you, I will happily accept your offer. I will take the bracelet and come to me on the day of the ne
xt full moon with the drop of her blood. And when you come back from your run I will have it ready for y
ou.” It‘s a full moon in 8 days. And even though I would have liked it done right away, 8 days is better th
an never. And we have already kept her safe for over a
year. I mindlink Mack and Cora for them to come and show her to the cottage.
“We see you in 8 days
then. I will get my Beta and his mate to show you the cottage. If you need anything let me
know. But until the full moon where the pack is gathered, I will prefer you don‘t go into town. I will inform
the pack then. And after you are free to go anywhere on the lands.” I tell her.
“That is just perfect. Thank you, your highnesses.” She bows.
“It is us that thank you,” Laura says just so Mack enters the room, and they leave.
