Chapter 39
Chapter 39 – The Call
LIAM
When we drove up in front of the house mom came outside smiling wide. We got out of the car andnovelbin
walked over to her.
“Congrats my children.” She tells us smiling.
“Thank you, but how did you know?” Laura asks her softly.
“Liam is the king dear. The whole kingdom felt the change late last night. And again this morning it
became even stronger.” She tells her. And Laura looks at me, I nod my head.
“Every wolf from 18 and up will feel the change that happened when I marked you. And I will guess that
with Shadow marking Kali this morning it became even stronger. Everyone will know there is a new
queen.” I tell her.
“Really?” I nod my head.
“I suspect the council will contact me soon and schedule a date for the actual ceremony.”
“Ceremony?”
“Yes, the crowning ceremony.” He smiles softly.
“Don‘t worry baby, everything will be fine. It‘s more just a title. But in the end not much more than being
the pack’s Luna. And assist and work with me to help packs in trouble. So don‘t stress please.”
“Okay. I will need to know more about it, but if you are sure I can handle it, I trust you.” She smiles softl
y and kisses me.
“I would never have put this on you if I thought you couldn‘t.” I kiss her back and all 3 of us walk inside.
After shortly saying hey to Mack and Cora, I went to my office and Laura went upstairs
to see the twins. I had been in my chair for 5 minutes when my Office phone rang.
“Hello?” I said.
“Your highness. This is Elder Andrews.”
“Andrews, I was expecting your call.”
“I can imagine. We all felt the strong shift in power last night and again this morning. Being that we
were surprised by the one this morning.” He says.
“Yes, my mom felt it too. Must have been our wolves you all felt.” I tell him.
“Your wolves marked each other?” he asks surprised.
“Yes, they did.”
“That is so rare even
among fated mates. But we all felt the increase of power in our kingdom. So I think what I am trying to s
ay is, congrats my king.” Elder Andrews says.
“Thank you.”
“My king. We will plan and set the date for the official crowning and make sure the invites heads of the
packs to witness.” He tells me. I know can‘t protest
against this without causing major issues with the elders, so for now it‘s just what it is.
“Okay, Elder Andrews. That sounds good. I will get my mother and our new beta female to help her get
a
proper dress for the occasion*
“Perfect, then I will hang up Again big congrats You hohness”
The call ends before I can
answer. It went a lot better than I expected, I know some of the elders were highly against, that I had
started to date and get a relationship with a She wolf, who already would have her own pups
But others understood and accepted my choice and trusted me when she and I say
that Zack will not be trained to be the next king
LAURA
I am outside in the garden together with Zach and Zara, we are all sitting on the ground playing when
Cora comes outside with Kai.
“I want to see it!” she sequels as Kai walks over to the twins.
“See what?” | ask. Well knowing what she meant.
“The mark silly, gosh it felt so strong when the change happened. Rosa said she had expected the
rush, but not that it would be this strong.” I look at her now knowing what I should say, so I remove my
shirt a little so she can see.
“Oh Laura, that is beautiful.” I smile.
“What about you did Mack and you mark each other?” She smiles but shakes her head.
“He wanted me to meet
Kai and get to know him, so I still can say no if this isn‘t what I want. But how can I not want this? Kai is
so cute, and I really want to help Mack give him a good life. And Mack he is amazing Laura.” She says
with a dreamy look in her eyes.
“Yeah, Mack is a good guy, and I am happy he found you, and that you have accepted Kai.” She smiles
at me.
“How can I not. I mean, look at him, he is so sweet. And no kid deserves to just be left to fend for thems
elves.” She tells me and I agree.
We sit and talk for a while watching the kids playing. And I can‘t help but smile, when I see how protecti
ve both Zack and Kai are of Zara. A strong pair of arms come around me, and I feel the tingles spread
over m y body. I look behind me and am met with Liam‘s lips touching mine.
“Elder Andrews asked me to give you his congrats.” He says with a low voice.
“No trouble with them?” I asked.
“Andrews
always liked you. And he didn‘t mention any problem. But even if there is they can‘t do anything about it
. Not when even our wolves marked each other. It is so rare that happens. Even among fated mates.”
“What about the crowning? I know they can‘t be happy with that.”
“The elders will be the ones to set a date and invite packs to the crowning. It doesn‘t matter if they are
happy or not. If they want a queen, they will do what they need to. Because I will NOT let anyone else h
ave that role. You are mine, my mate, and my future wife. No way in hell will I let them downgrade you.
In any way.” He says, and I know he means it.
“I will do my best to not disappoint you,” I whisper, and he gives me a funny look.
“Baby you don’t have to
do anything more than you already have been doing. You have cared, helped, and protected our pack,
and even the packs that came seeking refuse, and everything you have done helped mi e more than
you know. So don‘t put more pressure on yourself.” He tells me softly before continuing.
“Though you do need to get a dress fitting for a coronation. But I am sure mom and Cora can help with
‘that.” He smiles.
“Oh yes, we can surely help you with that,” Cora says excitingly, and I laugh, Liam smiles and kisses
me before going back to his office to work.
The rest of the day
went by fast, Cora was so excited and I couldn‘t help but feel it and relax more, everything will go fine.
