Chapter 38 – Shadow And Kall
LAURA
I wake up feeling the sweet sensation of the tingles. I am wrapped in Liam’s big warm arms. My mind
goes back to last night and I lift my hand to my neck. It‘s not sore anymore so i guess it has healed, I
wonder what it looks like. I turn around in Liam‘s arms, and when I am face to face with him, I am met
with his silver-grey eyes. He smiles brushes away my hair and looks at my neck, his smile grows wider.
“It looks good on you.” He says and kisses me before showing me his own neck.
Markings are unique from couple to couple. But usually chosen matebonds don’t give you a
full mark. But there on his neck, where Willow‘s mark had been there is now a new one. A mark of two
wolves one bigger than the other, the bigger one’s head protectively bent over the smaller ones. And
my name is written under it.
‘Does mind look the same?’ I wonder. And is surprised when Kali answers me.
“Yes, only you wear his name instead.’
‘But, I thought chosen mates didn‘t get full marks.’ I say
‘And usually, that is the case, but Liam
and Shadow are Kings. And Shadow and I accepted each other a long time ago. We were just
waiting for you two.‘ She tells me but I don‘t answer So she continues.
‘Shadow and I want to finish the matebond as well.’
‘What you mean.’ I ask
‘We want to mate and mark each other too.‘
‘Really?‘ she doesn‘t answer. But I can feel her need for Shadow. I look at Liam and he smiles at me.
“Let‘s let them out before we go home.” I guess Shadow talked to him just as Kali just did.
“Okay,” I say smiling. We get out of bed and walk outside.

Finally, Liam got brave enough to ask Laura
for her to be his. I have waited months for this. I had fast gotten a connection to Laura‘s wolf Kali. Even
though she could not shift for many months, we talked. Perks of me being the king, I can talk
to any wolf I wish.
In beginning, Kali was hard to reach because she was mourning the loss of a mate she never even
met. After all, his human wouldn‘t let him. But that doesn‘t mean it doesn‘t hurt when they were rejected
. That Alpha had almost broken them and with that almost killed her pups.
I don‘t care that she had gotten pups with someone else. I mean I was supposed to have had pups with
Ruby, Willow‘s wolf. But we lost them way too early. Other she–
wolves have tried to create a connection with us. But it was never anything more than a need for releas
e. Not before we found Laura in the forest.
Kali slowly opened up and began to
fully trust me. Before I knew it our connection was stronger, than it had been with anyone for years. We
watched and felt our humans fall in love, and slowly did we as well. And now I am happy that Liam final
ly marked Laura, and made her his. I told him Kali and I want to mark each other too.
Liam and Laura walked outside and allowed us to shift. The second we shifted I felt Liam fall back so I
had full control. Kali took off running into the forest and I felt her excitement of wanting me to chase her.
I
fit was a chase she wanted a chase she would get. We ran for a long time played and battled for fun,
but it‘s times like these I feel how strong she actually is.
After some time I jumped on her and bit down on the back of her neck, to make her stop and submit
tom e, and she did. I lick her face, and before long we mate. We both feel the bond grow stronger and
stronger, and get this feeling of belonging to each other. When we near the end of our mating we both
feel as if an unknown force connects us, and I bite down to give my mark. After our release, I lay down
next to her and she licks my face and neck, before biting down and giving me her mark.
KALI
I never got to speak or connect to my fated mate Titus. When his human Miles betrayed Laura andnovelbin
rejected us, we broke. I felt the loss and I thought about disappearing. But Laura needed me, so I
stayed. When Shadow in the beginning was talking to me, I was hesitant. But with time I opened up
and I also saw how Laura started to heal.
After several months I found myself being happy, having fun, and looking forward to every time that
Shadow would speak with me.
| slowly saw Laura and Liam fall in love and grow closer. In beginning, I was
scared that when our pups were born, things would go bad again. I was relieved when I was proved
wrong. Both Liam and Shadow were happy and have been so protective of our pups, especially Zara,
I had been thinking hard for a long time. And
I realized that the way life was turning, was the way I had hoped that it would have been with our fated
mate. But for some reason this feels good, no it feels better, better than I have ever thought.
Laura and Liam marked each other, and now Shadow and I have done the same, and I feel stronger th
an ever before. Stronger and faster. When we get back to the cabin, I snuggle up to Shadow and lick hi
s neck. Showing him I am happy I and Laura have him and Liam in our and our pup‘s lives.
Then I give back control to Laura and him to Liam.
We shifted back, and Laura was standing
in front of me. She smiled at me but didn‘t say anything, because we didn‘t have to say anything. I look
ed at her neck and my mark there, it feels so right that we marked each other. Something about the ma
rk has changed before only my name was there. But now after Shadow and Kali marked each other, Sh
adow’s name was proudly showing next to mine.
“Did Kali‘s name next to you as well?” I ask her smiling and she nods.
“I feel stronger.” She says and looks at me.
“Of course, you will feel and also have some of my strength.”
I lift her, and I carry her inside and to the bathroom where we
shower and once again make love again. I feel whole and complete. After the shower, I make us
breakfast and we eat together. After cleaning up together, we go to drive home. I know she must be
missing Zach and Zara because I do.
