"Was Ranita just speaking out of anger, or does she really not want a divorce?" Brendon thought fora moment before taking her hand and holding it tightly in his palm. He noticed that Ranita's fingerswere trembling.
"Ranita..." he began, but she quickly pulled her hand away, feeling uneasy and nervous about howBrendon would react.
"I'm sorry... I spoke out of turn earlier," she said, biting her lip. She was afraid that Brendon wouldbe angry with her for changing her mind about the divorce.
But instead of getting upset, Brendon interrupted her and said firmly, "If you don't want to leave me,then we won't get divorced."
