Just as she took a bite, Brendon pressed down on the back of her neck.
"Aren't you on your period? Why are you still eating cold things?"
Ranita felt guilty and blushed, "It's too hot!"
"Just a little bit? Okay?" Ranita's tone was soft and sounded like she was being coquettish.
Brendon squinted and said, "Then you can only take one more bite."
Ranita looked at the ice cream she had just bought and felt extremely distressed. "But it's soexpensive! It's such a waste to throw it away after only two bites!"
Brendon looked at the ice cream and then at her pink lips. He took the ice cream and said, "I'll eatit!"

Feeling shameful, yet her heart jumped wildly.
His face turned red.
"The taste is pretty good!" Brendon withdrew, his voice low and accompanied by a joyful laugh.
Ranita hung her eyes, afraid to look at him.
She really lacked backbone. With just a little teasing, her heart became soft.
Brendon didn't have a sweet tooth, but there was no denying that the ice cream was sweet and soft,which made him a bit addicted.
Time was tight, so they had lunch at the hotel. Just as they sat down, Julia hurried over with somefiles.
"Mr. Stuart, Miss Bowman," Julia smiled and greeted them as she handed the files to Brendon."These are the documents you requested, Mr. Stuart. The ones below are urgent documents thatCaleb asked me to bring along. After you sign them, I'll take them back with me."
Brendon nodded his head and said, "Okay, go ahead and do what you need to do!"
Julia glanced at Ranita out of the corner of her eye before leaving in frustration; she had followedher all the way here and every image stabbed at her heart.
But Julia knew that Shannon wouldn't let it go unnoticed for long; Ranita's triumph would be short-lived.
"What are you looking at while eating?" Brendon asked irritably when he saw Ranita on her phoneagain.
Who was this woman chatting with now? Could it be that damn brother of hers?
"Nothing much," replied Ranita who was actually discussing project matters with Chris rather thantexting Jedidiah like Brendon suspected; hence there were words filling up her screen.
Brendon didn't say anything for a while until he noticed something was off; he looked up from hisfood only to find himself staring intently at Ranita's phone screen instead.
"How did you get here?" questioned a surprised Ranita as she pushed him away from viewing hermessages on Chris' project collaboration.
"You... are still working together on projects with Chris?" Brendon raised an eyebrow curiously.
