Chapter 5236

Xion spoke to Julian Davis with reverence, “Uncle Davis, this is Mr. Wade, the officiant of my parent’swedding.”

Then Xion told Charlie, “My uncle was raised in the Elm family, he’s my grandfather’s adopted son.”

Charlie had seen Julian Davis on TV, but meeting him in person revealed something unexpected,Julian Davis was a warrior.

However, his cultivation was only at the entry-level one-star.

As Julian looked up at Charlie, he couldn’t help but stare, murmuring subconsciously, “He’s so similar…He’s so similar… Boy, did Xion just say your last name is Wade?”

With a slight frown, Charlie nodded calmly, “Yes, my last name is Wade…”

Julian asked excitedly, “Young man, what is your relationship with Bruce?”

“He’s my father,” Charlie replied “You knew him, Mr. Davis?”

Julian’s excitement grew as he blurted out, “You are truly Bruce’s son! They said you were missing, butyou’re alive! Thirty-two years ago, I went to the United States to study when I was fourteen.

I was your father’s junior.”

Surprised, Charlie asked, “You and my father were classmates?”novelbin

Julian replied with enthusiasm, “Not just classmates! I was the youngest student in our class and yourfather looked out for me.”

Curious about Charlie’s presence at the wedding, he asked, “You must have returned to the Wadefamily, right?”

Charlie knew he was dealing with a clever man, so he nodded and said, “I have returned, but the worlddoesn’t know yet…”

Understanding the situation, Julian said with relief, “I never understood why the Banks Family and theDragon Temple seemed to align against the Wade family, only to change course suddenly…”

“It defied the resilience of the great family and the logic of the old Patriarch.

Seeing you here today as the wedding officiant, it all makes sense! Your father was an exceptional manand it appears his son is no different.”

“Thank you for the compliment,” Charlie said, hands clasped.

He then asked, “Mr. Davis, you’ve been studying abroad since you were fourteen.

You must have dedicated yourself to your studies, yet you’re still a fighter.

Did you learn martial arts as a child?”

Julian raised his eyebrows in surprise and asked, “Are you a martial artist as well?”

Charlie considered for a moment, “You could say that…”

Julian sighed, “I didn’t expect Senior Brother Bruce’s long-lost son to become a warrior! When I wasyoung, my parents forced me to learn martial arts.

But after being adopted by Xion’s grandfather, I chose academics over martial arts.”

Puzzled, Charlie asked, “It’s rare for someone to give up martial arts for the sake of studies.

Why did you make that decision?”

Julian gave a self-deprecating laugh, “My parents and everyone I knew growing up insisted on thesupremacy of martial arts.

I was determined to become a master myself, even aspiring to enter the Dark Realm someday…”

“But my parents valued martial arts more than me.

At six, they left me with the Elms Family to seek their own breakthroughs, never to return.

Uncle Elms wanted to teach me martial arts, but I couldn’t forgive my parents for abandoning me, so Igave up martial arts and focused on my studies.”

Charlie inquired, “Mr. Davis, my father studied business when he went abroad.

Since you also went to business school, why did you become a news host?”

Julian explained, “I went abroad to study business, mainly focusing on economics.

Up until 20 years ago, I worked in finance in the United States.

Then, I returned home and joined a TV station’s financial channel.

I started as an analyst and gradually became a financial program host before moving to an integratedchannel as a news host.”

Charlie remarked, “Your career trajectory seems quite diverse.”

Julian sighed, “I discovered something by chance that made me want to become a host.

I hoped that if my parents were still alive, they might see me on TV, recognize my name and hear myvoice.

Maybe then, they would appear before me and acknowledge me…”

Curious, Charlie asked, “Did they ever appear?”

Julian hesitated before answering seriously, “Mr. Wade, after the wedding, we can find a safe place todiscuss this matter…”

Realizing that Julian might be hiding something, Charlie assured him, “Mr. Davis, this place is verysafe.”

Julian shook his head, smiled and said, “I trust you and Xion, but I can’t be sure about everyone else.

What I want to discuss with you must be completely secure.

Even if there’s only a one-in-a-million chance of being overheard, I won’t risk it.”

Charlie nodded in agreement, understanding the need for discretion in their conversation.

They would find a safe and private place to talk after the wedding and perhaps, unravel the secretsJulian Davis held within.
