Since Heather went on a business trip just days after her surgery, her wounds have been healingpoorly.
So right after Jeffrey picked her up from the airport, they went straight to the hospital for a medicationchange and a thorough check–up before heading back to the company.
“The Lopez Corporation can survive a day without you, it won’t go bankrupt just like that.”
Seeing her rushing back to the office to work overtime, Jeffrey couldn’t help but tease.
Heather laughed, “On this business trip, Everett has made connections with many overseasexecutives. They value the rigor of contracts
and also focus on the capabilities of the legal department during due diligence. I can’t be a drag.”
“Do we still need approval from our overseas partners given the achievements of The LopezCorporation?”novelbin
“Of course we are not considering those who beg us to cooperate. But when we meet companies ofequal status as The Lopez Corporation, we still need to strive to be the best.”
She was so thoughtful and so dedicated to the Lopez Corporation.
Jeffrey didn’t know why he felt so uncomfortable about that.
Can’t Heather see Everett hasn’t paid her any mind? He thought in his mind.
“While you’re here busting your ass, he’s off gallivanting in Lumina Bay with his assistant”
Heather heard Jeffrey’s grumble.
She suddenly burrowed her brows. “What did you say?
“Nothing”
“Everett… did he take Dorothy to Lumina Bay on a business trip?
Heather didn’t know the specific arrangements of the company. After all, nothing had been finalized,and the legal department couldn’t get involved yet.
But she knew that the first thing Everett was going to do when he returned was to head to Lumina Bayfor a major tech development project
And now he was taking Dorothy with him? Wasn’t that blatant favoritism?
Dorothy wouldn’t be qualified to get involved in such an important project even if she worked foranother decade!
“Yep, he took her on a business trip. Maybe you’ll even see that junior assistant’s name on the creditsof Genesis Creations Inc’s research development.”
Jeffrey also thought his friend was being unfairly biased.
He had always said he’d give Dorothy a fair shot to let her grow up! Now, if it weren’t for the fact thatthe junior assistant didn’t have the capacity to handle the project on her own, Everett would probablywant to make her the team leader!
Heather’s face was grim. She didn’t want to meddle in these trivial matters before She felt Dorothywouldn’t get far in The Lopez Corporation with her ability. But if Everett continued promoting her at thisrate, Dorothy might climb up sooner or later if she still didn’t intervene.
This was absolutely unacceptable.
“Everett is being so blatant, and the shareholders are okay with it?”
Jeffrey shrugged, “What can they say? He’s the CEO. He doesn’t need anyone’s permission to choosehis assistant.”
“Dorothy is also beating my expectations. I checked the projects she’s handled, and them’s actuallynothing to pick on.” Really?”
Heather suddenly laughed. Her lips were curling, but her eyes were devoid of humor, “She’d betterkeep up the good work.” Jeffrey glanced at her instinctively. He had a chill down his spine for noapparent reason.
Due to the heavy workload of this business trip, Kevin had to delegate some of the less importantdocuments to Dorothy for verification
For one thing, Kevin thought she was always doing a good job. And he also wanted to pull her into thisproject to justify adding her
name to the credits.
