Chapter 709

Seeing that Rosalie was about to turn around and leave, he rushed forward to grab her, wanting todemand answers.

However, he had only taken two steps before he was stopped by Jonathan’s

bodyguards. He couldn’t get close to Rosalie at all.

“Wait!” He almost shouted in a trembling voice, “What exactly do you mean by what you just said? What do you mean she saved my life?”

Rosalie paused and glanced back at Warren’s pale face.

The once cold and solemn man had a fearful expression at the moment, as if he was afraid that theanswer would cause him to break down.

Rosalie glared at him, but she still couldn’t contain her anger.

She sneered, “You want to know what I meant? Warren, the only reason you can still stand here now, alive and well, is because of Amelia donating her bone marrow to you. If Amelia hadn’t been so selflessin the past, you would be nothing more than a handful of ashes by now. You wouldn’t have been able toforce her to kneel down like this.”

Warren felt that his blood had frozen in that instant, and he couldn’t help trembling. He seemed to beoverwhelmed by the fear surging through him.

He could hear every word Rosalie said, but he couldn’t seem to grasp the meaning of the words.

He wondered, “Back then, wasn’t it Irene who donated her bone marrow to me? Why is Rosalie nowsaying it was Amelia?”

“You’re speaking nonsense!” Out of the blue, Irene shouted at Rosalie to hide her guilty feelings. “I wasthe one who donated my bone marrow to Warren back then. When did it become Amelia? Even if youare Amelia’s friend, you shouldn’t twist the truth like this!”

“Yeah, how can you slander Irene like this?” Ivy also hurriedly echoed.

Meanwhile, Thomas shot Warren a nervous look. “Warren, you don’t believe. them, do you? How couldit be such a coincidence that Amelia donated her bone marrow to you? Back then, both parties wereunaware of the other’s identity. It was only by chance that Irene found out the person who accepted herbone marrow was you. That’s why she reunited with you and dated you! This woman is talkingnonsense!”

Hesitation swamped Warren as he wondered who was speaking the truth. He stared at Rosalie, hiseyes turning scarlet as he demanded, “Did you make up that lie?”

Rosalie’s voice became colder. “I also wish that I made it up and that it’s not the truth. At least that way,it would mean Amelia did a good thing back then and

saved a good person instead of someone who wanted to take revenge against her and even forced herlife to become a living hell!”

Rosalie then turned to Irene and continued, “Your shamelessness truly knows no bounds! How couldyou claim the matter of donating the bone marrow for yourself? When you received that first call fromthe bone marrow bank, you refused without hesitation!”

Irene swiftly became anxious and angry. “Y-You’re slandering me!”

“You’ll know whether I’m slandering you once we hear the phone recording.” Rosalie said, “Youprobably don’t know that there was a phone recording back then, do you? Although a lot of years havepassed, so it was rather troublesome to dig it up, that doesn’t mean it can’t be found.”

Irene was stunned, and her thoughts raced. ‘Phone recording?

How can that be?

Why was there a phone recording? Why don’t I know about it at all?’

“Y-You must have asked someone to imitate my voice and used that to make the recording! Howdespicable of you!” Irene comforted herself constantly. She had tampered with the hospital recordsback then, so even if one went to check them, there would be nothing showing the truth.

She thought, “Rosalie is just talking nonsense. Maybe she’s just bluffing!”

“We can easily tell if it’s an imitation by comparing the voiceprints.” Rosalie said impolitely, “Irene, Idare to say all this today because I have enough evidence to prove that the person who donated thebone marrow was not you!”

After saying that, Rosalie looked at Warren again. “Warren, you think you’ve sought justice for yourselfand the York family by taking your revenge on Amelia, but Amelia is innocent! All the wrongs you’vecommitted against Amelia will probably never be forgotten in this lifetime!”

Rosalie turned around and walked out of the ward with Jonathan, Jonathan’s men also leaving.

Warren was utterly dumbfounded. All he could think of was the scene where Amelia was forced tokneel on the ground and bow.

“Warren, I never knew I could hate a person so much in my life. I hate you!”

He thought, ‘She hates me! She absolutely despises me!

If it really was her who saved me and gave me a second chance at life, then I… What I did to her inreturn…

He almost dared not let himself think about it further.

“Warren!” Irene said with tears in her eyes as if she had suffered a terrible grievance. “How couldRosalie slander me so? You won’t believe her lies, will you?”

Warren had remained frozen until Irene spoke, after which he turned to look at her.

At present, she appeared as pitiful as before. If it had been in the past, he would have moved forwardto comfort her, but now…

“Who was the person who donated their bone marrow to me? Was it you or Amelia?” Warren stared atIrene and said in a hoarse voice.

Irene was startled by Warren’s current demeanor. His eyes were reddened and held a hostility that hadher trembling.

It was as though if she gave the wrong answer, he would break her neck straight

out!

Irene unconsciously grabbed the bedding on the hospital bed, trying to suppress the guilty feeling inher heart as she said nervously, “Of course… it was me. How could it be Amelia?”novelbin

“It’s really you?” Then, Warren enunciated his following words slowly. “Irene, you should know that Ihate being deceived most. If Rosalie slandered you, then even if Jonathan was behind her, I would dowhatever it took to clear your name! However… If what she said is true, then…”

“Yes… I-It’s me!” Irene was so scared that she hurriedly interrupted Warren. “Warren, you and I havebeen together for so many years. Don’t tell me you won’t believe me but will trust an outsider?”

Warren slowly closed his eyes, thus hiding the scarlet redness in them. “Really? Irene… I hope you’retelling the truth.”
