Chapter 544

Chapter 544

‘Is it because I can’t bear this? The sight of that woman who now has to work such a difficult job?

She’s the last person I should feel sorry about! Who does she think she is, making me feel like this forher sake?’ Warren thought.

“I only gave you a job for Aiden’s sake. At least before the judgment, I don’t want my son to live a hardlife,” Warren said this not only to Amelia but also to himself.

“That’s my son, not yours!” Amelia hissed coldly. “Mr. York, don’t forget that you once said you’d haveme abort the child if I was pregnant. You also said a woman like me is not qualified to give birth to yourchild at all, didn’t you? Now, what rights do you have to steal my child?”

Warren’s face darkened. He slowly approached Amelia and said, “Since you chose to give birth to thischild back then, you should’ve expected a day like this to come.”

Amelia’s body flinched sharply. “You’d rather not let that child stay by my side, even if it’s a child youdon’t want?”

“What kind of life can he live if he stays by your side?” Warren snapped back mercilessly. “Will heaccompany you running » your stall and let everyone laugh at him for having a mother who used toserve in prison?”

Amelia’s face turned extremely pale.

Warren continued, “After the lawsuit is finalized and everything is over, I’ll take him back to Sloummont.Irene will treat him as her own, and he’ll have a great future ahead. Compared to that, what can yougive him?”

Amelia’s lips trembled like she wanted to say something. In the end, nothing was said.

She turned around silently and rode her little cart wobbly. Although she was only in her early 30s, sheexhibited severe aging signs as if she was being crushed.

She slowly started the cart. It made puffing sounds and rode into the quiet road.

Warren stared as the cart slowly faded from his vision, and he felt a sudden regret. She seemed emptyafter hearing his words like they had shattered her soul.

There was pain in his heart again. It ached even more than before.

Lillian felt like she was going crazy. From the surveillance footage Callum had helped her obtain,Jonathan’s car never appeared at the Youngblood residence. In other words, Jonathan never broughtRosalie back there.

As for the car Jonathan took back then, it was last seen driven to somewhere west of the city.Afterward, all the surveillance footage along the way had been destroyed.

That was to say, she had no way of finding where Jonathan had taken Rosalie.

“Do you really have no idea how to find them?” Lillian asked Callum persistently.

Callum smiled bitterly. “Strico is Jonathan’s territory to begin with. I genuinely don’t have a way if hedoesn’t want anyone to

find him.”

After all, Strico was not within the White family’s influence. His options were limited.

Lillian was crestfallen. “Then, what should we do? I can’t get through to Rosalie’s cell phone. I alsowent to her office and asked for her, but they said she had asked for leave. She’s also not at her rental

home. Tell me, what does Jonathan want from her?”

“Don’t worry too much. After all, Jonathan still loves Rosalie. Even if he really does something toRosalie, he won’t hurt her. Besides, not only are we looking for Rosalie’s whereabouts, Calvin shouldalso be searching.”

“Right! Calvin!” Lillian’s eyes lit up suddenly. “Let’s go find Calvin and see if he has Rosalie’s location!”

Lillian acted right after she spoke. She dragged Callum and headed straight to Gunner Group’sbuilding.

However, the staff stopped them when they got there. Even when Lillian explained their intentions ofcoming and also showed Callum’s identity, it was useless. The other party only said that Calvin was notin the building. As for where he was, the staff refused to tell her.

Lillian looked anxious, so Callum comforted her, “Don’t worry. I’ll call him and ask about it.”

“You have Calvin’s contact information?” Lillian was stunned.

“No, but it’s not difficult to get it.” As Callum spoke, he directly contacted someone else by phone. Sureenough, it did not take long for him to get Calvin’s contact information.

Lillian was greatly impressed.

“As expected of the head of the White family! It’s so difficult for others to get Calvin’s personal contactinformation, but he could do so quickly,” she thought.

Callum quickly called Calvin’s phone. When the call connected, Lillian hurriedly spoke, “A-Are you Mr.Gunner? Im Rosalie’s good friend, Lillian. Can I ask if you know where Jonathan has taken her?”

After hearing Lillian’s name, Calvin’s expression changed slightly, thinking, “It must be the woman I metat a charity party who was close to Rosalie. She was also the one who had been running around tohelp Rosalie out when she was in prison.”

Calvin did not hang up the phone and chose to answer her. “I haven’t found out yet, but I will continuelooking.”

“I see. I also haven’t found anything. If you have any news, please let me know,” Lillian said.

“Okay,” Calvin answered and ended the call.

On the other side, a row of electronic screens were in front of Calvin. The scenes in those screenswere surveillance footage of the road at night.

However, all the footage containing where Jonathan was driving that night had been erased.novelbin

“Is there no way to restore the footage?” Calvin asked coldly.

“This is done by a professional. I’m afraid it’s difficult,” his subordinate responded.

“What about records of leaving the city? Nothing, as well?”

“I don’t think they left the city. We’ve checked the surveillance footage of the cities near the entrance.Everything is normal.”

Calvin’s frown deepened. “Continue checking the surveillance footage of the roads that have beenerased. See if there are any properties of the Youngblood family.”

“If Jonathan wanted to take Rosalie to a hotel, their traces would be easily found. So Jonathan didn’thave to do this,” Calvin pondered.

“Yes, sir,” the subordinate answered.

Just then, Calvin’s phone rang. He checked the caller ID on the screen and found it was from hismother.

He pressed the answer button and spoke to the other end of the phone, “What’s up, Mom?”

“If you’re free tomorrow, come back at night. Let’s have dinner together,” Samantha said.

“Okay, I got it,” Calvin replied, turning his gaze to the gray screens again.

“No matter where Jonathan took her, I must find Rosalie!” He thought resolutely.
