Chapter 522

Chapter 522

On the way to the police station, Lillian told Callum what had happened at the food cart before.

Hearing that, Callum frowned subconsciously. It seemed that credit was due to Jonathan’s twobodyguards. Otherwise, the three women might not have been able to escape unscathed.

“How about I send two bodyguards to protect you secretly later?” suggested Callum.

Lillian hurriedly refused, “No. In that case, I will feel uncomfortable as if I am being watched.”

“But…”

“I promise that I will call you immediately if I’m in danger!” As Lillian spoke, she raised her hand as if tomake a vow.

Callum couldn’t help laughing.

When they arrived at the police station, Rosalie was responsible for telling the police what hadhappened before and submitting the recording on her phone. The three scoundrels were also handedover to the police.

After giving their statements, Lillian said to Rosalie, “Callum and I will send

“Okay,” Rosalie answered.

you

home later.”

With that, the three walked out of the police station. Having also finished with their statements, the twobodyguards also followed Rosalie out.

Callum’s car was parked in the parking space at the entrance of the police station, but at that moment,a black Bentley was parked in another parking space not far from his car.

Rosalie stopped immediately. It was Jonathan’s car.

“He’s here too?”

The two bodyguards who followed Rosalie stepped forward and said to Rosalie, “Ms. Leighton, thisway please.”novelbin

Rosalie pursed her lips. It was now evident that the two bodyguards had already known that Jonathanwould come.

Since they were sent by Jonathan, they would naturally report what happened there to him.

“Rosalie, what’s wrong?” Lillian also stopped and looked strangely at her friend who had stoppedbehind her.

Rosalie said wryly, “You guys leave first. I… will go back in another car.”

Lillian looked at her friend and then at the two bodyguards. Afterward, her gaze fell upon the nearbyBentley. “Is Jonathan in the car?”

Rosalie nodded.

Lillian stared at the car and said, “I’ll ask him what is going on between the two of you.” Although Lillianwanted to thank Jonathan for sending the two bodyguards, she wasn’t going to conflate the issue withJonathan’s stupid game of playing make-believe family.

“They’ve both broken up. Isn’t he tormenting her by doing this?”

Just as Lillian was about to rush over, Rosalie grabbed her friend and said, “This is between me andhim. I will handle it.”

She knew that Lillian was worried about her, but she was also afraid that Lillian would upset Jonathan ifshe confronted him. If that were to happen, Callum’s protection might not be enough to keep Lilliansafe.

“But…” Lillian was still worried.

“Enough. You might end up making things worse instead,” Callum interjected.

Only then did Lillian give up. Before leaving, she said to Rosalie, “If Jonathan puts you in a spot, pleasetell me and we’ll solve it together.”

Rosalie smiled. “Okay, I got it.” For her, Lillian was like the light in the darkness. The latter wouldalways support her and not give up on her whenever she was in trouble.

Only then did Lillian and Callum get in the car, while Rosalie got into the black Bentley.

Lillian kept watching the Bentley drive away. Then she muttered to Callum, “Okay, let’s go.”

Callum drove away from the police station. “Where do you want to go now?”

“Home of course. Where else can you go?” Lillian said sullenly.

“If you are in a bad mood, why don’t we go see a movie?” he said.

“Forget it. It’s no use watching any movie unless you do another striptease.” The mention of it remindedher that he seemed to have danced in front of her the last time she was drunk, but she had norecollection of it at all. It subsequently remained a

hazy memory afterward.

Therefore, every time she thought of it, she would feel that it was a shame. With time, it became one ofher regrets.

Callum glanced at Lillian and said, “If you really want to see it, I’ll perform it for you when you go to myplace.”

Lillian almost choked on her saliva.

She mused, ‘What did he say? He wants to perform a striptease for me? Did I hear it wrong? Isn’t hethe head of the White family? Doesn’t he view such sultry performances with disdain?

The last time he watched a boy band sing and dance on TV, he despised them!’

“Will you really do it?” she asked.

“Mmm-hmm,” he responded readily. In truth, she knew that he would do anything for her as long as itmade her happy.

Lillian swallowed the saliva suddenly secreted from her throat and felt that there was no time like thepresent. If he were to take it back later, she would end up regretting the missed opportunity.

“Then let’s do it today,” she said immediately.

“Today?” He was slightly stunned.

“Yeah, since it’s still early anyway. Why don’t we go to your place first, and you can send me homeafter you finish?” She said. It was already over 9 p.m. at night, and it was late. By the time they arrivedat his residence, it would be 10 p.m.

Callum pondered for a moment and then said, “That works too.” Then he turned the car around anddrove toward his mansion.

On the way, Lillian was a little thirsty, so she said, “Do you have anything to drink in your car?/I’mthirsty.”

“I still have a bottle of coffee. Do you want it?” he said.

“Okay,” she answered and knew where he usually kept the drink, so she reached out to take it.However, when she was about to unscrew the cap, she suddenly stopped as if something had come upin her mind. Then she frowned slightly and stared at the coffee bottle in a daze.

“What’s wrong?” he asked.

Lillian bit her lips and said, “What if I’m pregnant?”

Callum was stunned for a moment. Then, the screech of jamming brakes was heard. Callum steppedon the brake in astonishment, stopped the car, and then looked at Lillian in disbelief.

“Why did you suddenly stop? It’s dangerous!” Lillian patted her chest and said, “Fortunately, there arefew cars on this road. If it was busy, we would have been hit by a car.”

“What did you just say? You’re… pregnant?” Callum stared at Lillian’s stomach as his voice went out oftune.

He seldom lost his composure, but it was not surprising that he did when it came to matters related toLillian.
