Chapter 454

Chapter 454

“Kiss… Kiss you?” stammered Rosalie, her face instantly reddened

He looked at her, not even realizing how covetous his gaze had become. “Yes, that night, at theentrance of Night Sky.”

“Night Sky?” Rosalie was sweating profusely. It seemed that drinking was indeed a mistake.

She had not expected that she had the incident of her kissing him logged in her fragmented memory.

“If you doubt it, we can ask Carlos to come over and confront him,” he said.

“Carlos? Carlos Gibson? His personal assistant? He saw it, too?” thought Rosalie, her face turnedeven redder.

“Or we can pull up the surveillance cameras nearby from that night. They should have captured footageof that,” he added.

Rosalie suddenly had the urge to dig a hole and bury herself.

“He even mentioned the surveillance cameras. Is this a conviction?” mused Rosalie.

“No… it’s alright,” she said awkwardly. If she had known that she would end up like this after gettingdrunk that day, she would never have gone drinking.

Rosalie lowered her head and dared not meet Jonathan’s gaze. Therefore, she did not notice that hewas looking at her with obsession at this moment.

He even brought his face closer to hers little by little, wanting to kiss her blushed cheek.

Creak!

Just then, the door of the room was pushed open, and it was the assistant who had come to get themedicine.

The assistant seemed stunned upon witnessing the scene in the room.

Ar this moment, the man was seemingly kneeling on one knee in front of the woman and rubbing thewoman’s knee with his hands through her dress, and his handsome face was close to hers. Hisexpression was filled with obsession and infatuation as if he only had eyes for the woman.

The assistant could not believe that such an expression would appear on Jonathan’s face.

“Didn’t they all say that Mr. Youngblood was cold-hearted and ruthless?” the assistant mused.

The assistant had only heard that Jonathan had brought a woman here for a visit, but this was the firsttime he saw it in

person.

Clearly, the sound of the assistant opening the door had disturbed Jonathan and Rosalie.

The infatuation on Jonathan’s face was instantly replaced by coldness. He shot a cold glance at theassistant from the corner, of his eyes, making the assistant break out in a cold sweat.

“Ms. Leighton, here are your medicines. The usage is the same as before. We added a box of painrelief medicine for this week. The instructions for use are in there.” The assistant hurried forward andhanded the medicines to Rosalie.

“Okay, thank you.” Rosalie took the medicines and got up hurriedly.

Jonathan grabbed her hand and said, “Sit down. Let me check if there is any medicine you can takeright now.”

As he spoke, he picked up her medicines and looked at them. He then found the modern medicineamong them that could be taken immediately.

He read the instructions and took out two pills. Then, he poured a glass of warm water and brought it toher along with the pills.

The assistant who had not yet left was staring in awe, thinking, “Mr. Youngblood, the aloof man inStrico, had always been served by others, but now he is feeding someone medicine. And who exactlyis this woman? She doesn’t seem like a socialite in the city. Her ordinary clothes look cheap.”

However, Jonathan was rubbing her knees and feeding her medicine. Anyone who was not blind couldtell that this woman was yery important to Jonathan.

Rosalie looked at the medicine in front of her and felt like laughing and crying at the same time.

This man had been so cruel when they broke up, but now he handed her medicine and water withgentleness like before.

Both gentleness and cruelty were embodied in him incisively and vividly.

She silently took the medicine and glass and swallowed the pills with water.

Then, he picked her up and led her all the way out of the hospital.

A luxurious car had already stopped at the hospital entrance. Just when he placed her at the car doorand opened it, she took a step back to the side, distancing herself from him.

He raised an eyebrow slightly, a hint of surprise flickering in his eyes.

She looked up at him carefully as if she wanted to size up the man in front of her. Her lips parted gently, and with a soft but calm voice, she said, “Mr. Youngblood, thank you. You really don’t need to doanything for me.”

“Just because we have broken up? Even if we did, I can…”novelbin

Before he could finish his words, she lifted her hand gently, and her middle finger which was slightlydeformed at the joint was pressed against his lips.

She flashed him a gentle smile. Her smile was still as calming as before, yet it seemed it could seepinto one’s heart.

“Jon, this is the last time I call you that,” Rosalie said quietly. “I’m just an ordinary person. I can getangry, sad, upset and hurt. Even if you only treated our relationship as a game, I still take it seriously. Ihave genuinely thought about growing old and having children with you.”

Her voice was calm and devoid of complaints or hatred. She sounded so calm that it felt like she wasjust narrating a very ordinary thing.

Yet, his heart began to tremble.

“So, when the game is over, I can’t adapt quickly like you. For me, I might need some time to move onfrom this relationship. Now that we’ve broken up, I hope we can part ways completely. You and I aretwo people with no relation. That was how we were in the past, and it will be the same in the future. I’mnot your girlfriend nor am I Rosie.”

Her voice droned on, but every word from her was like a needle or sword piercing his heart.

Even his blood seemed to be seeped with pain, and it spread across his body.

As she withdrew her finger, the warmth from his lips lingered.

But she knew that the warmth would never belong to her.

“Jon, I want to forget you, and I will. If you could consider the fact that I brought you home before andwasn’t entirely bad to you during our relationship, please don’t disrupt my life anymore, okay? I will stayout of your way, too.”

With that, she withdrew her gaze and brushed past him. “Goodbye, Jon.” Eventually, she gently left twowords as if she were bidding goodbye to their time together.

His body suddenly trembled, and he abruptly closed his hands into fists. He looked blankly at the spotshe had stood just now, feeling as if she was still standing in front of him.
