Chapter 1062

“Did he agree?” Rosalie asked.

“Yes,” Amelia said.

“Well… Anyway, I wish you all the best” Rosalie said.

“Thank you. I hope so, too,” Amelia said.

Lillian was still lost and in shock. She didn’t come back to her senses until Amelia waved and called outto her.

“Then… Then I shall prepare a wedding gift for you.’ As soon as the words came out, Lillianimmediately realized that she had said something wrong. After all, Amelia and Warren were not gettingmarried because they were in love.

As expected, Amelia said, “It’s unnecessary. The marriage is just a temporary solution.”

As she said that, she glanced at Lillian’s belly again, “How are you doing these days? Is there anysudden excessive fetal movement like last time?”

“No.” Lillian said, “But it’s really… a bit mysterious. Didn’t my baby calm down as soon as that little boytouched my belly last time? He then said with certainty that I was having a girl.”

Both Rosalie and Amelia knew about it. Rosalie asked, “And then?”

“And then, when I had a regular B-scan a few days ago, I asked the doctor to check whether it was aboy or a girl, and it turned out…” Lillian paused before she unconsciously lowered her voice and

continued, “It’s indeed a girl. And the doctor is sure of it as there is little chance of mistakes at thisstage of the pregnancy.”

Rosalie and Amelia exchanged a glance. Then, Amelia said, “Maybe it’s just a coincidence. That littleboy must be talking nonsense, or… he might have heard from someone in his family about how topredict gender from the shape of the baby bump and then happened to guess it right from your bellyshape.”

After all, that seemed to be the only possibility.

It was not necessarily because that little boy had the power of precognition or X-ray vision.

“But his tone was too confident to be guessing, and that man following him didn’t seem to doubt him atall as if… well, it was normal,” Lillian said mysteriously.

Rosalie said, “So what do you think is going on with that little boy?”

“I wonder if he has any special ability-superpower and the like,” Lillian said.

“That’s very imaginative of you.” Rosalie laughed and said, “I remember you also mentioned that thelittle boy said he would marry the child in your belly in the future.”

“That’s right. If my future son-in-law has superpowers, then will my future grandson or granddaughterhave it, too…” Lillian’s imagination began to run wild.

“Aren’t you afraid that your daughter won’t like that future son-in-law of yours, and then you won’t haveany superhuman grandchildren?” Rosalie joked, while Amelia also had a rare smile on her lips.

“I won’t let him marry my daughter if she doesn’t like him, no matter what!” Lillian said categorically, butthen she seemed somewhat regretful and said, “But that little boy is truly pretty, and I can’t imagine

how stunning he will be when he grows up. If I have him as my son-in-law, my daughter won’t seem tobe at a loss either.”

Generally speaking, Lillian was still a sucker for good looks, and sometimes her mind would be swayedby people’s appearance.

The three of them chatted and laughed, talking about whether that little boy would become Lillian’sfuture son-in-law. For a while, the atmosphere became much more relaxed.

Amelia looked at the two friends in front of her. Every time she was with them, she would be glad thatshe had met such good friends.

There was another person who had helped her in that prison full of suffering, but she didn’t know whenshe would be able to repay the kindness of that person.

Amelia felt gloomy when she thought about that. After all, she didn’t have the contact information ofthat person, not to mention the chance of finding that person had become even slimmer since manyyears had passed.

A few days later, Amelia and Warren went to City Hall.

Amelia stared at those signs at the entrance of City Hall in a daze. She had once wished to go thereafter Warren proposed to her one day.novelbin

When she had gone to prison later, she stopped thinking about that and even thought she would never,in her life, set foot in City Hall for marriage.

But now, she was there because she was getting married to Warren.

“Aren’t you going in?” Warren’s voice sounded beside her.

“Yes, let’s go in,” Amelia replied and took a deep breath. However, her steps were so heavy that everystep seemed like a struggle.

The two of them entered City Hall and then sat in the waiting area after getting a queue number.

At City Hall, marriages and divorces shared a common waiting area.

Shortly after Amelia had sat down, a woman sitting next to her asked in a low voice, “Are you here for adivorce, too?”

Amelia was startled for a moment. She then looked at other people in the waiting area.

People who went there to get married talked and laughed, while those who were there for a divorceignored each other with cold faces.

She and Warren looked like they were getting a divorce.

Before Amelia could speak, the woman beside her said again, “I’m also here to get a divorce. I thoughtof him as a treasure before we were married, but after the marriage, I realized he was a scumbag. I didall the housework at home and took care of his parents and the children, but all he did was hand mesome household expenses each month as if he was taking pity on me. If things didn’t go well for himoutside, he would even beat me up when he got home. I’ve had enough!”\

Amelia listened politely to the woman’s complaints about her marriage.

After a while, the woman seemed to have finished telling her story. Then, she sized Warren up and saidto Amelia, “But your man looks perfect on the appearance. Why do you want a divorce? Is he aplayboy? Nowadays, the more good-looking a man is, the less reliable he will be. If you remarry afterdivorce, just find someone honest and stop looking for handsome men…”

“We’re not here for divorce but marriage.” Warren’s voice suddenly came from the side, and his coldeyes swept over the woman.

The woman’s face was immediately filled with embarrassment, and she said to Amelia, “Hey, why didn’tyou say earlier that you are here for marriage? You both sit here with a straight face without talking toeach other. No one would have thought you were getting married!”
