When the weekend arrived, Lucas drove his daughter to pick up Amelia at the concession stand. Thetwo children sat in the back while Amelia sat in the passenger seat.
Throughout the journey, Aiden took care of Nadine like an adult. The little girl sat in a child safety seatand kept talking to him about things such as the cartoons she had watched recently, her drawings, andhow long before she could go to kindergarten.
“Is kindergarten fun, Aido?” Nadine asked.
