At the River Bed pack. Alpha Ansaldo’s driver packed the car and went around to open the door forhim. Getting out. he then went around and opened the door for Bree.
It was already night, so the pack house was quiet with only a few warriors around. They stared atBree curiously but did not dare to ask their Alpha about her presence in their pack.
“Welcome to your new home. I hope you like it?”
Alpha Ansaldo extended his hand to Bree, and she took it before stepping out gently from the car.Bree looked around her surroundings with satisfaction and smiled at him

Ansaldo’s hand lowered to her waist as she stood beside him. “I’m glad you like me better than thehouse,” he said, kissing her cheek.
The warriors were surprised but already sensed a big problem waiting. As soon as they entered thepack house, Alpha Ansaldo’s father met him heartily.
“Nick, you arrived on time. I just married Abilene, the daughter of Alpha Gaius from the East RedPack, for you.”
The smile on Bree’s face froze as the woman, who looked pretty with a beautiful smile, approachedAnsaldo as if Bree was not even there.
“Call me Abi. My father is already making arrangements for us to merge our packs because he’sold. Ansaldo, your power would greatly increase,” she said softly, pitching it in his favor.
Alpha Ansaldo was momentarily lost, only becoming aware of his surroundings when a handcaressed his chest. His expression changed.
“You are moving faster than your legs. Pack up and go back to your pack. I already found mymate,” Alpha Ansaldo revealed. Not only Abilene but even his father looked displeased.
“Nick. I hope you are joking.” his father said before casting a glare at Bree. “Who is she?”
It was as if her presence was not noticed the first time. Alpha Nick pulled down his neck collar alittle and showed his father the mark.
“We already marked each other, and this is Bree Thorax. Does it ring a bell?”
“Thorax: Alpha Nick’s sister?” His father asked, looking surprised. He had heard about Alpha Nick’ssister but had never met her.
“Yes, she is. It was when I went for the business collaboration between our packs that I realized mymate had been there waiting for me all this while. She is an amazing woman, and I hope thateverybody makes her feel welcome.”
He was talking to his father as if Abilene did not exist or was not standing in front of him.
Abilene saw the middle–aged man ready to give in but could not accept her loss. If no one wouldspeak for her, then she would do so by herself.
“What do we do now? I already signed the marriage certificate on your behalf,” his father saidworriedly. Then he blinked
“It’s your
fault, Nick. You should have called to inform me the moment you found out she was your mate.”

Alpha Ansaldo did not know how to explain it but tried anyway. “There was a lot going on at theDark Moon Pack, and I had just found my mate. What was the rush when I was equally bringingher to this pack?”
The atmosphere grew uncomfortable as Abilene stared at Bree with contempt. Her pack might bebig, but the Dark Moon Pack was bigger, and Alpha Nick was greatly feared.
However, she was determined to merge the River Bed Pack with hers to give it security. For as longas she was concerned, they had to marry for business gains.
“She is your mate, and we are married. You know the laws that when one does not wait for theirdestined mate and marries another, he has to wait at least three full moons before initiating adivorce. I have to stay here for at least three months if you want peace.”

Bree did not stop him, and as soon as the door closed, she took out her phone and called Sheridan,sounding teary. “Sherry, please, I need your help.”
“Bree, what is the matter?” Sheridan asked, disturbed. Alpha Nick was equally curious at themention of his sister and was about to speak when he heard Bree’s voice.
“Are you with Nick?”
“Yes. Do you want to speak to him?” Sheridan asked, feeling that Nick’s phone must have been onsilent mode.
“No. I want you away from him. Please don’t let him know it’s me on the line,” Bree said.
Sheridan stared at Alpha Nick apologetically before returning to the shower room and locking thedoor.
“Now tell me everything. I’m all ears.” Sheridan was not expecting the question that came fromBree, as she knew it was going rob her from her sleep.
