Chapter 3960

The Omnipotent Lord sneered, stood up, and looked down at James. He pointed at James and said,“I’ll give you two choices, James. You can either submit to me or die.”

James did not take the Omnipotent Lord’s threats seriously. He calmly looked at the Omnipotent Lordand responded,” Submit to you? I might consider it, if you can make it worth my while.”

The Omnipotent Lord was taken aback. He did not expect James to comply so easily and wasprepared for James to challenge him in a fight to the death over the position of the new universe’sLord.”novelbin

For a while, the Omnipotent Lord remained silent.

After a few seconds, he sorted out his thoughts and grinned. “Of course, I’ll make it worth your while. Inthe new universe, those with strength will be given authority. If you can defeat my subordinate, I’ll giveyou the position of the Deputy Universe Lord.”

The Omnipotent Lord called out, “Briscoe.”

“Yes, My Lord.”

Immediately, a man stepped forward. It was a middle-aged man about 1.8 meterstall. He wore a whiterobe and seemed quite refined. Despite his elegant look, he radiated an imposing aura.

The Omnipotent Lord looked at James and said, “This is the current Deputy Universe Lord, BriscoeHaldor. He’s been assisting me in managing the new universe. Also, for your information, he is a Nine-Power Macrocosm Ancestral God who’s almost at the peak of his rank.”

The Omnipotent Lord had two reasons for summoning Briscoe. Firstly, he wanted to test James’ truestrength. Secondly, he wanted to see if James was really willing to comply with his orders.

As long as James sincerely submitted to him, he planned to give James a prestigious status regardlessof the battle’s outcome. Although he would not be conveyed the highest ranks, he would still beextremely influential in the new universe.

“As the Universe Lord, I should show you some mercy. I’ll give you some time to prepare for the fight. The fight can begin when you’re ready.”

The Omnipotent Lord declared in an authoritative tone.

James began to ponder deeply. He was still unsure how the First District could raise so manypowerhouses in mere Epochs. He felt he would not get the answers he wanted even if he defeatedBriscoe and the Omnipotent Lord.

His only option to discover the truth would be to stick close to the Omnipotent Lord for now. Jamessuspected it had something to do with the Dark World’s Watchers. He had exposed himself in the DarkWorld, so the Watchers must have investigated him. With a bit of digging, they probably learned abouthim and the situation beyond the Dark World.

As such, they took control over the Omnipotent Lord. Perhaps they did not really take control over himbut provided him with some support. As a result, the Omnipotent Lord achieved great strength and wason the cusp of becoming an Acmean.

If his assumptions were true, he could find clues about the Watchers while observing the OmnipotentLord. Then, he could wipe them out with this knowledge.

In case he was wrong, and the Omnipotent Lord truly had improved his strength and raised manypowerhouses using his own means, then he would be a very valuable ally and worth siding with.

James concluded that it was necessary for him to fight Briscoe. Moreover, he would have to ensureeveryone knew about it to attract the Watchers’ attention. By doing so, he could get the Watchers toreveal themselves.

James briefly took stock of his strength. When he fought against the Watchers in the Dark World, heonly displayed strength around the middle stage of a Nine-Power Macrocosm Ancestral God.

On the other hand, Briscoe’s cultivation rank was in the final stage of a Nine-Power MacrocosmAncestral God. James planned to lose the fight and leave unhappily. The Omnipotent Lord woulddefinitely try to recruit him despite the outcome.

After a brief thought, James said, “Alright. Since you think so highly of me, I won’t disappoint you. Wecan have the battle in a thousand years’ time.”
