“Be honest with me, or I'll go out every day.”
Veikko sat down and leaned against the head of the bed, pulling her into his embrace with one arm.
After a moment of silence, he slowly pulled out his phone from his pocket and handed it to her.
Just as Caridee was about to reach out to take the device, Veikko suddenly raised his arm.
“Are you messing with me?”
“No, but promise me you wouldn't get angry or lose your temper after reading what's inside.”
Caridee quickly nodded, wanting to get the phone first before saying anything else.
Of course, Veikko read her mischievous thoughts. Unable to resist it, he reached out and ruffled herhair vigorously.
After successfully messing up her hair, he then handed her the phone.
Caridee glared at him before finally shifting her gaze to the screen.
With just one glance, she sat up straight.

Veikko quickly reached out to pull her back, pulling away the blanket to examine her injured leg.
To his surprise, she was only wearing a pair of panties.

“Stop messing around,” Veikko chided, as he carefully tucked her back under the blanket.
Caridee clung tightly to him, grumbling, “I want to do that. Why can't I mess around when you dare tomake a move on me? What is it? Do you not have the guts?”
The way he said nothing, his handsome face tense and his ears flushed red, made Caridee burst into
laughter.
As she laughed, her gaze fell back onto the screen of the phone.
Caridee stopped laughing when she saw the woman who looked exactly like her lying on the bed,tormented to a pitiful state.
“Who sent this to you?”
She finally understood why the young man lost control.
It was fortunate that he had a strong mind. If he were an ordinary person, they would have probablybroken down upon seeing the picture.
A blood-thirsty expression flashed in the young man's eyes. Parting his thin lips, he forced two wordsthrough his teeth, “Shaun Carter.”
Caridee furrowed her brows, her mind racing. She seemed to have understood something.
“Someone created a woman who looked exactly like me and presented her to Shaun. Thinking she isme, Shaun sent you these horrible photos to provoke you and make you yield to his threats. Am Iright?”
“Yes. It must be Mr. Philip's and his son's doing. They need Shaun to send reinforcements to help themattack the Tarragon Headquarters.”
Caridee instinctively reached for her phone on the bedside table. “I'll call Shaun. I'll tell him that woman
is a fake. He's been played by Mr. Philip and his son. I'm going to disrupt their alliance.”
Veikko reached out to stop her, shaking his head and saying, “There's no need for that. Let himdispatch his forces to attack the Tarragon Headquarters. Once he's lost some of his men, it will beeasier for me to deal with him.”

Veikko reached out and pinched her cheek, laughing as he said, “You're growing up so fast, Caridee.Remember, your brother and sister-in-law are considered 'dead' until the matter is resolved. Also,starting from today, you can't go anywhere. We can't let Shaun know that the person by his side is animposter, understand?”
“Mmhmm.” Caridee quickly nodded, leaning in to whisper in his ear, “Since I'm like this now, do youreally have no plans to... Hmm.”
Veikko reached out and covered her lips, his voice hoarse as he warned, “Stop it, or I'll teach you alesson.”
