After Artemis received news that something terrible had befallen Bailey, he drove toward the Shurmerfamily's medical base at once, running over twenty red lights in the process.
His crazy behavior caught the attention of the Transportation Bureau's chief.
Still, the chief didn't dare to do anything to Artemis, especially after he heard about Artemis' unstablestate from one of the traffic police. Artemis acted like an enraged bull, rendering the chief even moreafraid of provoking him at that untimely moment.
The traffic condition could be restored following a disruption, but if the chief offended the Luther familybecause of an insignificant matter like that, he reckoned he might even lose his position as an official.

Meanwhile, at Century Grandeur, the entire venue was surrounded by reporters.
In the beginning, the security guards were still able to maintain order. However, the situation graduallyworsened as the crowd grew bigger. In the end, all hell broke loose as the security guards could onlystand by and watch as the reporters surged into the premise.
“What's going on? What happened? Did an international superstar visit Century Grandeur? Is it thebest actress, Rainie Yeanisky, or the best actor, Elliot Sawyer?”
“What are you talking about? It's Bailey Jefferson. I heard that she requested to meet with her adoptivefather, Clarence, at the restaurant, and they are carrying out some secret dealing inside.”
“I'm guessing she wants him to be a cuckold by taking her into his family since the identity of her birthfather is unknown. Once Clarence announces to the public that she's the Jefferson family's biologicaldaughter, others won't spread rumors about her being an illegitimate child anymore.”

“That's right. Let's go upstairs and take a look.”

She didn't need to guess further to know that Clarence and Rhonda, the incompetent father anddaughter, had fallen into Bailey's trap. They deserve this outcome. I can't believe they think they cantarget Bailey with their stupidity. They are nothing but fools.
“Ms. Shurmer, Mr. Zeke secretly left Century Grandeur ten minutes ago while carrying Bailey, who wascovered in blood,” Zoey's bodyguard whispered beside her ear.
She turned around and narrowed her eyes at him. “Covered in blood? Is she injured?”
“The lower half of her body was bleeding. I'm guessing she suffered a miscarriage.”
Zoey was briefly stunned. “Didn't she have a miscarriage not long ago? Why... I got it. She deliberatelyannounced to everyone that she suffered a spontaneous abortion. In fact, the fetus is still developingwell in her womb. The damage is probably too significant this time. She won't be able to keep the babyeven if she wants to.”
“That's right. I think so too. Judging by the degree of her bleeding, I don't think she can keep the baby.”
