In the operating room, Bailey had her eyes narrowed as she studied the tissue sample taken fromVeronique's uterus lining.

Justin chuckled self-deprecatingly and said, “We are old-timers with tons of clinical experience. I'm surewe all know we can't leave this matter to luck.”
“Yeah, so we still have to develop new drugs. Give me the sample. I'll take it to the laboratory in theShurmer residence and find out if we can use the data about her genes and cancer to develop a drugthat can prevent the cancer cells from spreading,” Bailey stated.

“I'm not sure, but Zeke has been so distracted lately. I went to the study to bring him coffee a few times,and he was always staring at the two pots of cactus on the table while spacing out. I asked hisassistant about them and found out that it was Juliana who gave him those plants. He keeps them onhis study table.”

“She has already left Hallsbay. Why can I still feel her presence everywhere?” she said resentfullythrough gritted teeth.
Zoey sighed softly and remarked, “She's too lucky. Not only does she have the Hoffman family backingher up, but she also has an amazing mentor handling things for her. Bailey is Juliana's strongestsupport. Only by taking down Bailey will you be able to have control over Juliana.”
