The Hoffman family was the biggest and most mysterious family in Adrune and had ruled over Epea forcenturies. Once Juliana wielded real power, she would be one of the most powerful people in the world.
Thus, Bailey approved of her return.
Her years of experience taught her one thing—only those in power were able to protect their lovedones and do whatever they wanted.
The doorbell rang right when Bailey sent a message to Juliana.
It was a curt text: Have a safe trip.
After the message was sent, she tossed her phone onto the coffee table and went to the doorway toopen the door.
“Bailey, you lied to me!”
The sight of her sister-in-law at the door caused Bailey to massage her brows in exasperation.
Ugh, I'm going to have a headache. I've just sent one away, and another one is here.
“When did I lie to you?”
“You promised to get me Legendary Racer's autograph, but she didn't even come to Hallsbay, let alonejoin the competition!”
Bailey let out a helpless sigh. “How do you know she's not at Hallsbay? Not joining the competitiondoesn't mean she's not here, get it?”
Caridee blinked. “Is she here? You're not lying to me, right?”
Feeling amused, Bailey slapped her head. “I promise you'll get Adhira's autograph that day.”
Caridee sighed in relief and took Bailey's arm. Beaming, she said, “Bailey, you're the best!”
Right after she spoke, footsteps sounded in the corridor outside.
They both looked up.
Caridee bore a lovestruck expression when she got a clear look at the person.

Bailey hurriedly covered her mouth and declared, “Stop talking nonsense. If your brother hears this,he'll kill me!”
Caridee blinked before reaching out to pry her hand off. “It turns out you're scared of Artemis, huh?”
Bailey was speechless.

Bailey shot her a glare.
I knew it. The Luthers may look innocent, but they are full of tricks.
“My sworn brother. Don't talk nonsense,” she warned.
“What is his name?” Caridee asked.
“Veikko.”

Bailey pushed her into the living room and slammed the door shut.
“Why did you come?”
Veikko glanced at her and asked, “I heard Dexter isn't coming back and wants you to join thecompetition on his behalf. Is that right?”
“Yes, he can't make it back in time and asked me to compete on his behalf. Why don't you do thatinstead?”
Bailey didn't want to steal the limelight, anyway.
Hearing that, Veikko spun on his heels and left. “I'm not used to people staring at me like I'm a monkey
in the zoo.”

“By the way, what about the thing I told you to investigate? What did you find?”
“The Hoffman family is currently at Sunny Resort in the south of the city. Sebastian is locked up there,too. However, you shouldn't act recklessly. Raymond came down the stairs and chuckled. “You keep your promise by showing up in three days.”
Juliana blinked and raised her brow. “I have no choice as my nephew is with you, Mr. Raymond. Nowthat I'm here as promised, can you release Sebastian?”
Raymond gave a dismissive wave. “There's no hurry. He's part of the Hoffman family, and I'd like tospend more time with him. I'll ask someone to send him home when we leave.”
Juliana sneered inwardly.
As she expected Raymond not to release Sebastian that easily, she wasn't that disappointed at hisresponse.
“All right. We'll do it your way. Where is Sebastian? I'll go take a look at him.”
Since she agreed without kicking up a fuss, Raymond didn't make things difficult for her. He ordered amaid,” Bring Ms. Juliana to the guest room so she can see Mr. Sebastian.”
“Yes.”
After watching them leave, the middle-aged man beside Raymond asked, “Holden didn't take actionafter receiving the finger. Was my prediction wrong?”
Raymond snorted icily. “They are placing their hopes on Juliana and won't take action.”
“What should we do?”
“Make sure Juliana doesn't get to contact the outside world. That way, they will panic and fight witheach other. Also, tighten the security on the bast*rd. We don't want to let Juliana take advantage of thesituation to save him.”
