Chapter 223

Bellamy 2- Meeting and magic

| know it’s a jerk move but | can’t risk her refusing, this is too important. So | barge my way into her home and try not to grin atthe way she glares at me. It’s cute and completely non- threatening.

“What are you doing? This is my home, you can’t just let yourself in!” She objects, | turn and go to give her a dominating stare.Sure enough, she looks away immediately. Yeah that’s about what | expected. A glance around her home doesn’t tell me a lotabout her. The place is pretty empty. There is a tv, a couch, a small but tidy kitchen and a dining table that seats two. A door atthe far end of the room must lead to her bedroom. | have a strange desire to see behind that door. Are there more personal itemsinside? Something that might tell me more about this woman. | return my focus to Ryann. | need to talk to her but | feel strangestanding here. | remember the little dining table. Perfect, | point at it.

“Sit.” | tell her. To my surprise she glares at me. Perhaps she isn’t so meek after all. Her nextwords confirm it.

“Mr Kane, you can’t just barge your way into my home and order me around.” She says angrily. | can’t help but roll my eyesagain. Is she trying to be intimidating? Because it is not working. Not at all. | force sarcasm into my tone. | don’t want her to seehow amusing | find

her.

“Would you rather | phrase my demand sweeter, and have no doubt this is a demand not a request. Miss Gale, would you be sogracious as to take a seat so that | can speak to you. properly about the rather vague note you left for my sister last night.” |watch as an array of emotions fly across her face. Irritation, curiosity, even a little sadness. To my relief, she sits down. | don’tactually know what | would do if she refuses to speak with me. | can’t exactly

force her.“Are you happy now?” She gestures for me to take the remaining seat.

“Why did you leave my sister that note?” | ask. She shrugs, SHRUGS. Like it isn’t important. Luckily she continues or I’m fairlysure the sarcastic thoughts passing through my mind would escape and she would never talk to me. I’m not used to peoplearguing with me, or glaring at me to be honest.

1/4Bellamy 2- Meeting and magic

“| saw that man, Tristan was it? Propose to her. | know it’s not right so | wrote her a note.” She explains. Well that answer was asclear as mud. | narrow my eyes suspiciously. What isn’t she saying?

“And how did you ‘know it’s not right?” | know it’s immature but | can’t help it. | speak in a silly high—pitched falsetto. | expect herto get angry, but she just sighs like she was expecting

iL.

“| know it’s not right because of my magic.” She answers calmly. What does that even mean? Humans rarely have magic. Shedoesn’t smell like a Witch. | lean in a little, looking for hints. of magic in her scent. It actually pisses me off that she smells sogood. It’s distracting.

“But you’re human. You smell human.” | point out. She just raises an eyebrow and snaps atme..

“Stop sniffing at me, and I’m not human.” She insists. Is she trying to lie to me? That's just insulting. | cross my arms over mych’st defensively.

“Then what are you?” | demand. She does it again. Just SHRUGS like it’s no big deal.

“Beats me, if you can figure it out let me know.” | say casually. Wait what? She doesn’t know? But everyone knows what theyare. It’s practically impossible not to. We all get tested at birth and marked. It helps avoid medical mistakes and accidentaldeaths when doctors actually know what people are. | can’t help but ask again..

“You are an unknown Magic?” | can barely believe it. I've never met someone who didn’t know their own magic. | inhale deeplyagain, looking for hints to her magic in her scent. This time, she’s the one who rolls her eyes and her response is sarcastic.

“| know, | know. Big shock right? How can this be and blah blah blah. | am an orphan and even though | know my power, itdoesn't fit into any species, so I’m stuck as an unknown.”

This is so interesting.

“What is your power then?” The power she explains is like nothing I've heard of before. | can barely believe it’s true. Actually, I’mnot totally sure | do. She seems sincere, but she could be lying to me. The problem is | want to believe her. Especially when shetells me why she wrote

that note.2/4Bellamy 2- Meeting and magic

“Tristan has a red thread but it isn’t linked to Megan. | usually try to ignore this kind of thing. Fate always sorts itself out after all.But | have a blue thread, the friendship one, linked. to Megan. If she is fated to be my friend then | don’t want her to suffer when |can prevent it.” | confirm her words and she insists they’re true. She wants to be friends with my sister? | thought she didn’t likeShifters?

“You aren’t even a Shifter, why would fate want you to be friends with my sister?” | comment, | admit that | intend the words as ataunt. She rises to the challenge.

“What does that have to do withanything? Everyone has a fate MrKane, regardless of thecircumstances of their irth. When |look at ROMFQNE: | sedthe threads ofteil Fate, not their. species.” Shelooks angry again but I’mreconsidering my opinion of her.Maybe she doesn't hate Shifters? Butthen why was she so weird when sheanswered the door? And why does itfeel so wrong to hear her calling me‘Mr Kane?” The content is onNovelDrama.Org! Read the latestchapter there!

“Bellamy.” | tell her. She looks confused.

“What?” She asks,

“Call me Bellamy. Mr Kane was myfather.” Okay, that’s not totally true.He was Alpha Kane and realistically, soam |. Everyope|éall neMAlphaKanélexc st Megan. Still, telling berto use my name feels right. Thinkingof my father still makes me sad. Hepassed away too young. | would loveto hear his opinions on Tristan andactually, about Ryann too. “Fine. Bellamy then. You can call me Ryann.” She offers her name uncomfortably but I’m glad she does because | have beencalling her Ryann in my head this whole time and | am sure to

slip and use it sooner rather than later. | can’t help but take deep breaths to inhale more of her scent. | try not to be too obviousabout it. She smells... anxious mostly. Well now | feel

kind of bad. Did | overreact?novelbin

“Well Bellamy, now | have somequestions for you.” She says primly, interrupting my thoyalets.. Wait What?| game berets Get answers, not givethem. She can't just demandanswers from me like... well... like |did. Damnit. The content is onNovelDrama.Org! Read the latestchapter there!

“Wow, calm down would you. I’m not asking anything difficult, at least it shouldn’t be.” She complains and hesitantly, | nod for herto continue.
