“This is the place, Dmitri! This is my brother-in-law’s office building! He’s the chairman here, so he candefinitely pay you the money!” Lucas said respectfully as they stood outside Four Seas Corporation.
The only thing I can do right now is to stake it all on Alex. I’ll be fine as long as Dmitri can get themoney from him! Who knows? Alex might just fear Dmitri so much that he’ll pay him on the spot!Besides, he’s really rich, so it’s only right to have him pay Dmitri instead!
The security guards of Four Seas Corporation realized something was amiss when they saw dozens ofmen armed with baseball bats heading toward the building. All those men looked hostile and wereapparently up to no good.
The guards quickly gathered at the entrance and formed a line to stop them from entering. The securityguard team leader then stepped forward and asked, “Who are you people? Are you here to causetrouble?”
Dmitri then shoved Lucas toward the front and ordered him to do the talking. With his life on the line,Lucas had no choice but to do as he was told. He then handed the security guard team leader acigarette and said with a smile. “I’m the brother-in-law of the chairman, Mr. Jefferson. Could you pleaselet him know that I need to see him urgently? It’s really important.”
The security guard team leader did not accept the cigarette that Lucas offered. Instead, he simply shotDmitri and his men a cautious glare as he contemplated his options.

With that in mind, the security guard team leader whipped out his phone and gave Alex a call to explainthe situation. Alex was taking care of some paperwork in his office at the time, so he came downstairs.immediately after receiving the call.
Lucas ran up to Alex the moment he saw him step through the front door. “I’m so glad to see you, Alex!My mom was wrong to have ruined your marriage with Heather! We’re all terribly sorry about what shedid. Will you please remarry Heather?” he exclaimed..

The security guard quickly dragged Lucas aside for fear of him hurting Alex. After all, they would be theones held responsible if Alex was injured in any way.
Dmitri scratched the top of his bald head as he walked up to Alex and eyed him from head to toe. “So,you’re Lucas’ brother-in-law? He owes me one hundred million, and he says you’d help him pay for it.Do you have the money ready?” he asked with a disdainful look on his face.
“I don’t know this man at all. If he owes you money, then it should be him that you go after. How doesthis have anything to do with me?” Alex responded coldly.
Lucas panicked the moment he heard that. What? Does Alex seriously not care what happens to me?These guys will kill me if I don’t pay up!

Dmitri couldn’t care less if Alex really was Lucas’ brother-in-law. Since the two of them clearly kneweach other, Dmitri decided to force Alex to pay him.
All he wanted was the money, and he knew that the chairman of Four Seas Corporation would surelyhave far more than one hundred million to spare. Besides, he had enough men to back him up if Alexstubbornly refused to do as told.
Dmitri had assumed that Alex would shiver in fear and beg him for mercy, but that was clearly not thecase here. Instead, Alex showed no fear whatsoever in the face of his threat.
