Chapter 906

Chapter 906 I Was Wrong

“I won’t leave. I won’t leave until you hand over ten billion to me today unless you’re willing to beat meto death!” Carmen’s voice, hoarse and filled with determination, echoed through the room.

Frustration seeped through Carmen’s veins, lingering in her every word and gesture after failing to winthe argument against the crowd earlier. After all, it was her against many people.

Alex’s tone further stoked Carmen’s anger, intensifying her fury. No matter how great Aler is, I’m still hismother-in-law. Shouldn’t he show me some respect?

Immediately after uttering those words, Carmen dramatically sprawled on the ground at the entrance ofFour Seas Corporation. She closed her eyes as if she intended to take a nap right then and there.

Nevertheless, Alex was not one to show mercy toward a scoundrel. He swiftly instructed the securityguards, “This individual has not only caused significant disruption to our company but is now makingsuch audacious demands. Since she’s letting you beat her to death, go ahead and give her a goodbeating!”

Carmen, who was still sprawled on the ground, did not expect Alex to say something like that. He’sreally showing me no mercy, huh? How dare he tell them to beat me to death?

She opened her eyes to find herself slowly getting surrounded by a group of security guards holdingstun batons. Panic gripped her as the gravity of the situation dawned upon her.

Looking fearful, she quickly got to her feet and said, “You’re a heartless person, Alex! How dare youorder your employees to hit your mother-in-law? You’ll be punished by the heavens for that!”

Carmen was as stubborn as a mule and continued to insult Alex. The security guards present, aware ofthe importance of leaving a good impression on the chairman of the company, hoped that their

behavior would garner favor and potentially lead to a raise when he was in a good mood.

Furthermore, Carmen was an older lady. They could only give her a light beating, for things wouldspiral out of control if her life were to be harmed.

The first security guard to arrive in front of Carmen raised his hand and slapped her across the face.

Carmen clutched her face in pain, her panic genuine. Aler’s security guard actually hit me! Unable toswallow her anger, she burst into tears and shouted at Alex, “You heartless person! You’re someonewhom my daughter was married to for many years. How dare you-

Before she could finish, she endured another beating that made her lower her gaze in pain.

“Ouch! It hurts! You guys are going to beat me to death! Ahh! Alex, you jerk. Do you have any idea howstrong your stupid subordinates are? Tell them to stop this instant! Ow! I was wrong. Alex. Please tellthem to stop. I’m going to die at this rate. I was wrong. Please stop beating me, misters, I’m sorry!”

Carmen started off with a stubborn attitude but ended up covered in bruises. Every part of her bodyached, and even two of her front teeth fell out.

The security guards did not beat her to death, nor did they break her limbs. All they did was inflict someexternal injuries and make her suffer a little..

After getting beaten to a pulp, Carmen was finally forced into submission and dared not behave like ascoundrel anymore.novelbin

Alex waved at the security guards to stop hitting her upon seeing that the woman had finally given in.

Sobbing uncontrollably, Carmen glared at Alex with a face full of resentment, her eyes burning withsuch intense hatred as if she wanted nothing more than to push him to the ground and unleash her fury

upon him. Yet, despite her raging emotions, she dared not act on her violent impulses.

“Are you going to keep staying here? If the answer’s yes, the security guards will gladly humor you tothe end,” uttered Alex, his voice laced with iciness.

Carmen retracted her neck at his words and instinctively shielded her head with her arms. Gazing atAlex in fright, she stammered, “I-I won’t do it again… I-I’ll leave right now.” Her voice quivered intrepidation.

Only when Carmen had disappeared from his line of sight did Alex return to his office and seek updateson the company’s matters from Jessica.

Meanwhile, Carmen found an empty corner and hid there, concealing herself from prying eyes. Amalicious glint flitted past her gaze as she fished her phone out of her pocket and dialed Heather’snumber.

She then recounted a dramatized version of that day’s events to her daughter, portraying Alex as adomineering bully toward an old woman like her.
