Carmen nodded and continued walking toward her villa, Aiden following beside her. As they strolleddown the bridge, she asked him the reason for the failure of his business.
Aiden and his ex-girlfriend had metat university and had been together for many years. After theygraduated, he hurried to start a business and did not have much time to accompany his ex-girlfriend.
He had worked hard to give his ex-girlfriend a better life but did not expect her to cheat on him withtheir neighbor. Now, not only did his ex-girlfriend run away with someone else, but his business hadalso failed.
Even his house had been sold to cover the losses of the business, so he no longer had a place to stay.That was why he had decided to seek death.

“You don’t have a place to stay, right? Why don’t you come and live with me? My villa is huge. It’s not aproblem to have you stay at my place,” Carmen suggested.
Although she had a good impression of Aiden, she knew she was not suited for him because of herage. However, there was no telling if he truly loved older women.

The duo finally arrived at the villa, but Heather and Lucas were not home. Aiden took the initiative tocook and show off his skills to Carmen.
Carmen did not reject his offer. After all, she rarely cooked at home. She never needed to do it, either.Previously, Alex had been the one to cook the family’s meals. Now, it was Heather’s responsibility.
In about an hour’s time, Aiden cooked a table of appetizing food that emanated a delicious fragrance.
“Carmen, it’s been a long time since I cooked because I was busy with my business. Today, I would’vebeen dead if it weren’t for you. I hope you don’t mind the simple dishes I prepared. Quick, have ataste!” Aiden rubbed the back of his neck as he spoke shyly.
His gaze was fixed on Carmen. He watched as she ate a mouthful of food, anticipating her review ofhis cooking.
Carmen felt that Aiden’s cooking was average. It was nothing compared to Alex’s. Now that shethought about it, she could not understand how a good-for-nothing like Alex could have such excellentcooking skills. It was a pity that she could no longer taste his food.
Carmen answered calmly, “Not too bad.”
Disappointment flashed across Aiden’s face, but his frown was soon replaced with a smile as he madesmall talk with Carmen and tried to please her.
After dinner, Aiden went to the bathroom to shower while Carmen prepared a room for him to stay. Justthen, the doors to the villa opened, and in walked Heather. She did not overthink things when she sawthe two pairs of forks and spoons on the table, assuming that Lucas and Carmen were home.
For the past two days, Heather had not been home. She had gone to look for Alex to ask him face-to-face why he had lied to her.
However, she could not find him no matter where she went. He had also blocked her number. Itseemed as though he had disappeared from the face of the Earth.
Heather was exhausted from the past two days. The only thing she wanted to do was retire to her roomand have a good rest. Just as she walked past the bathroom, the door suddenly opened.
Out walked Aiden with only a towel wrapped around his waist. He felt his heart skip a beat when hesaw Heather, not expecting to meet such a beauty in the house.
