Chapter 655

Chapter 655 Sense Of Superiority

Unable to stand the woman nagging at him anymore, Alex was about to take Stanley elsewhere withhim.

However, Wendy got in their way and asked. “What’s wrong? Why are you in a hurry to leave whenwe’re still in the middle of a conversation? Are you afraid of embarrassing yourself in front of your son?”

“What else do you want from me?”

“I’m just trying to do my neighbor a favor! You know you can always come to us if the Jenningses havetrouble making ends meet! I’ll consider doing the family a favor instead of turning a blind eye!”

She had just indicated Heather and the rest of her family were similar to beggars from the streets. Itwas another one of her attempts to humiliate Alex.

“Oh? Thank you so much for the offer, but what exactly are you trying to offer the family?” Alex askedwith a smile.

Wendy made a face and thought she couldn’t expect much from a man who had been living off awoman throughout the years.

No wonder others wouldn’t stop looking down on him! I can’t believe he took me seriously when I wasmerely kidding! I seriously can’t wait to see them suffer! Maybe I’ll consider donating them a meal ortwo once in a while when they show up at our doorstep!novelbin

When Wendy thought of the things awaiting the family, she announced with her head held high. “Myhusband holds a managerial position in the company! His monthly wages are more than tens ofthousands! If you grovel yourself at our mercy, maybe I’ll get him to do you a favor and get you a job!”

Joseph arched his brows when he heard his wife’s boastful statement. It turned out she was lying, andhe was merely an executive of the company with monthly wages of a few thousand.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have to listen to his wife when he was supposed to be the one leading thehousehold.

Although he was conscious those were merely lies, he remained silent because he was afraid shewould pick on him once they were home.

After Alex took a peek at Joseph, he played along with Wendy and complimented, “Wow! Seriously? Amanagerial position with monthly wages of tens of thousands?”

Wendy got increasingly proud and showed him the designer bag she had. “See? This cost him overtwo hundred thousand, but he bought me this with his bonus without a second thought!”

Joseph’s confusion was written all over his face. He had never heard of anything regarding bonuses.Since she had control over his monthly wages, he was never the one who had bought her the bag.

Alex had his eyes glued to the bag while complimenting. “Indeed, you’re the only one who deservessuch a valuable bag!”

It was then that Stanley asked with his brows arched in confusion, “Daddy, Mommy has the same bag.But what’s wrong with the color of this bag? It seems different from Mommy’s. Is it a fake?”

Wendy put her bag aside when she heard the little boy. She reprimanded Stanley, “You need to stoplying because there’s no way she can afford a bag that cost two hundred thousand! The one yourmommy has is the fake one! Mine is a genuine good!”

All of a sudden, a few ladies next to them brought themselves to a halt when one of them caught aglimpse of Wendy’s bag.

She burst out laughing and said, “Oh, my God! Is she seriously telling others it’s a genuine one whenit’s obviously something from the streets?”

The young woman’s friends turned around and made fun of Wendy in a similar manner when theyheard her.

“Does she think she gets to deceive everyone with that cheap bag she has over there?”
