Chapter 501 Sick Of It
When Heather reached outside, Alex was already in his car.
Even though the man saw Heather in his rear-view mirror, he had no intention of stopping his car forher at all.
Alex went to get a drink in a local bar and did not return home until almost midnight.
When he got home, Heather and the others were already asleep, so he took a shower before sharinghis son’s bed for the night.
Knowing that Heather would want him to sell the Jenningses’ shares to their rightful owners, Alexarrived early at the office of Four Seas Corporation the following day.
More than anything, he wanted to see how Heather would react when Demi kicked her out of JenningsCorporation.
Alex thought that Heather had learned her lesson after Demi took away the young woman’s shares, butlittle did he expect her to remain stubborn.
That was why he had decided to stop helping Heather and the other Jenningses.
Alex finally got sick of the woman and her tiresome issues.
That morning, Heather did not show up, and Alex was done waiting for her.
“If Heather shows up later, tell her that she’s to shell out two hundred million, or she can forget aboutbuying the shares back,” the man instructed Jessica, who was stunned by the arrangement since shedid not know what was going on. Still, the secretary nodded in response. “Yes, Mr. Jefferson.”
“If they’re serious about the share buyback, call me, and I’ll have my attorneys discuss the details withthem,” added Alex.
“Understood.” Jessica nodded once again before her boss walked away.
Alex headed straight for Sakura Club to practice his elixir-making skills since Flynn had stocked up ona fresh batch of herbs there.
On the surface, it seemed like Alex was working on developing the tech dome, but he was actuallymore interested in improving his own capabilities.
Practicing alchemy just happened to be one of the most efficient ways to do so.
Alex promised himself that he would not rest until his father was free from Doomsday Prison.
The more he learned about that godforsaken place, the more powerless he felt about saving his father.
Alex knew that he had to double his efforts to have any chance of attempting a rescue.
On
top of that, although Richard had warned the Morrisons against going after him, Uriah wouldundoubtedly do everything in his power to avenge Susan and Samson.
Since Alex was responsible for the deaths of two Morrisons, the family would never stop until eitherparty was dead.

Even though she knew it was a lot to ask of Alex, she had to do it anyway since she made a promise toher grandmother.
Remembering how much the chairman had helped her only made it harder for Heather to drag herselfto the office, and that was why she did not turn up there in the morning.
“Hi. Jessica. Is the chairman available?” inquired Heather when she reached Four Seas Corporation.
In response, the secretary shook her head. “I’m afraid not. He’s already gone out since morning.”
Heather sighed. She was as relieved as she was disappointed “Do you have any idea when he’ll beback?”
“Heather, you’re here to arrange for the share buyback, am I right?” asked Jessica.after setting downthe folders in her hands.
“Huh? How did you know that?” Heather got a little nervous when she heard the question, for she wassure that she never mentioned the buyback to Jessica.
“Why are you so tense? The chairman wanted you to know that he’ll agree to the buyback if you’rewilling to pay two hundred million. That’s his final offer,” informed the secretary with a smile.
“Wait. So he knows?” Staring wide-eyed at Jessica, Heather was even more shocked when she heardabout the chairman’s offer. Is that the reason he left the office? Is he trying to avoid me because heknew?
At that point, Heather was convinced that she had broken the chairman’s heart.
