Slowly walking over to Alex’s desk with a smile on her face, she said, “Chairman, I’m here to updateyou on my latest progress.”
“Okay.” Alex nodded and signaled for her to continue.
“Chairman, there hasn’t been anyone from the Jennings family who has intervened with the companylately. And it won’t be long before the company resumes its normal operations. I’ve also brokered threebusiness deals. One of them is a partnership with the Wood Group. The budget for this partnership isslightly above thirty million. Heather stared obsequiously at Chairman. She was dying to see if the face behind the mask wassmiling or not.

“Alright. Then just send me the address tonight,” Alex said as he discreetly extricated his arm from herembrace.

Although Heather was slightly disappointed, she still turned around and walked out of the office.
Staring at her from behind, Alex took off his mask and leaned back into his chair with a stormyexpression on his face.
Lighting a cigarette, he proceeded to put it to his mouth and inhaled deeply. He was utterly disgustedby what had just happened.
Just then, Jessica came knocking at the door again.
“Mr. Jefferson, Kate is here looking for you again,” she reported.
