Lori was cranky and in a bad mood. When she saw Alex, whom she thought was an average securityguard, she vented all her anger on him.
Alex glanced at Lori, then, his brows snapped together as he said, “I was leaning against this tree anddidn’t move at all. You were the one who bumped into me. Aren’t you the blind one?”
“You trash! You didn’t watch where you’re going and ran into me. How dare you talk back to me!” Lorireprimanded him.
Her voice was so loud that she attracted the attention of the other parents nearby.
Some parents even came near and surrounded them.
“Everyone, I’m sure you can see for yourself. This live–in son–in–law of the Jennings family bumpedinto me, but he accused me of doing so. Don’t you all think that’s unreasonable?”
A look of disdain appeared on the parents‘ faces when they knew Alex was the live–in son–in–law ofthe Jennings family. Besides, most of them knew that Lori’s husband was a top–level manager in theFour Seas Corporation, so they sided with her against Alex.
“Hey. Though you’re a kept man, you should apologize to Mrs. Laster like a gentleman.”
“Don’t you have self–respect? I’ve never seen anyone as shameless as you.”
“What are you talking about? He doesn’t even care about his dignity since he has willingly joined theJennings family as a live–in son–in–law. Why would he care about being shameless?”
As the crowd mocked Alex one after another, the corner of Lori’s lips twitched up.
“Kneel and apologize to me, or else later your son will feel embarrassed too,” Lori said with a pridefulexpression.
Alex squinted his eyes at Lori. “Do you know that you’re digging your own grave?”
“How hilarious! What can a security guard like you, who lives off of a woman, do to me?? With herhead held high, Lori sniggered while pointing at Alex when she sensed his rage.
“Bring it on! I dare you to lay a finger on me.” Lori behaved arrogantly.
Everyone stared at Alex with a gloating gaze.
“What a piece of trash! You’re a coward and not much of a man.”
Slap!
Suddenly, a tight slap landed on Lori’s cheek. The entire crowd fell silent at the sound of that slap.
“How… How could you slap me?” Lori stared at Jerome in total disbelief.
Never had she expected to get slapped by her own husband.
“I’m going to beat you to death, b***h!” Jerome yelled, then he raised his palm and slapped Lori again.
What’s going on?
Everyone was dumbstruck.
Even Alex felt puzzled and gaped at him. What’s he trying to do?
Is this a show to gain pity?

“Jerome Laster, I’ll kill you!” Lori shrieked angrily while hitting Jerome’s face with her handbag.
