Chapter 3164

“Duncan doesn't even mind that Liberty's a divorced woman with a son.Everyone knows that he treats her son well. His love for Sonny issincere.

“He'll be a caring father toward his stepson, and he doesn’t mind thathis wife is a widow or a divorcee. He's the most suitable person for me.“Even Liberty, a mediocre divorcee, can find a man who's a hundredtimes better than her ex-husband. I'm much more capable than her. AmI not good enough for Duncan?

“So what if Duncan and Liberty are lovers? As long as they aren'tlegally married, I still stand a chance. I've confirmed that Duncan will beable to recover from his injury. The doctor said he could recover fully bynext year if he consistently persisted in his physiotherapy.”

Rhea thought she was better than Liberty and more suited for Duncan. She wanted to fight for herself and Dean.

She would not need to worry about him mistreating Dean if she marriedDuncan.

Rhea felt jealous whenever she witnessed Duncan's affection forSonny.

Those who knew nothing might have thought Duncan and Sonny werefather and son just by looking at their interactions.

“You have a point, but people will scold you for being a homewrecker.Dean will be involved as well. You have to think this through, Rhea.”Old Mrs. Torres tried her best to dissuade Rhea.

“If you really can't find someone... You can stay single and raise Deanby yourself. Once he can take over, you can step down and enjoy yourlife.”

Old Mrs. Torres did not want to see Rhea working herself to exhaustion, but she did not wish for her to be a homewrecker either.

“Liberty is a divorced woman, but her younger sister is the missus ofthe York family. Zachary is known to be a doting husband. They'll takeLiberty's side. If they find out you're going to snatch Duncan away fromLiberty... Our company can't endure the combined oppression of YorkCorporation and Stone Group.

“Duncan may not like you too. He really isn't suitable for you, Rhea.Don't ruin your reputation and put our company in trouble because ofhim.”

Old Mr. Torres added, “She's right, Rhea. Duncan could've been a goodmatch for you if he wasn’t crippled and wasn't dating Liberty. Not only ishe both of those, but even Mrs. Lewis, who couldn't accept Liberty backthen, has come to support their relationship.

“You don’t have to make things difficult for yourself. Mrs. Lewis dislikedLiberty for being a divorced woman. I guess you'll receive the sametreatment as well.”

Corey would probably hate Rhea more for being a widow.

The Lewises had high standards. Not any woman could join theirfamily.

If it were not for Duncan becoming crippled, Corey would not haveaccepted Liberty that quickly.

After listening to her in-laws’ dissuasion, Rhea remained silent for sometime. Then, she sighed and said, “Liberty isn't in Wiltspoon now. I heardshe established a company in Jensburg. I think she'll remain there untilthings are stable for her new company.

“It might take a year or several years. While she isn't here, I'll try tocheck out Duncan's interest. If Duncan chooses me willingly, no onewill have any opinions.

“I won't pursue Duncan openly. I'll just flirt with him and test if he'sinterested in me. If he doesn't express any interest, I'll give up andkeep things purely business between us.”

Since Rhea said so, what else could her in-laws say?novelbin
