Chapter 3130

Austin then asked Weston, “Don’t you think so, Mr. Abbot? Did you also apply for this job becauseit’s challenging and brings fame?”

Weston was stunned momentarily. He then grinned and said, “That’s right. Becoming the O’Connorfamily’s chef does improve one’s reputation.

“I’m also tempted by the salary and benefits they offer. I need the money.”

The salary offered by the O’Connors was comparable to the amount received by a highly-rankedemployee in a mega-corporation. Austin nodded in understanding.

At that moment, the waiter served their coffee and desserts.

Jovanne went for the desserts first. She chewed, wanting to taste every ingredient used.

Austin guessed that the young Jovanne liked making desserts.

Once she tasted a good dessert, she would try to guess the recipe via her tastebuds andexperiment with the recipe herself.

Austin often did that.

As chefs, they all had an impressive sense of taste.

“Dad, the desserts here are great. You should try them out.”

Jovanne talked to her father before turning to Austin, saying, “You should give it a try as well, Mr.York.”

Austin refused politely. “I don’t like sweet stuff.”

That was also why he was not good at making desserts.

That morning, he had passed the first test with desserts that he was bad at making. He was full ofconfidence for tomorrow’s second stage.

However, if he failed…novelbin

Austin thought about it. He would learn from Weston. If he failed, he would make the second, eventhird attempt. He had to manage to enter the O’Connors’ manor at some point.

Only then could he approach Isabella openly.

He needed to know Isabella and her character well. He had to see if she was worth him courtingand marrying her.

However, if such a picky woman actually became his wife forever, he would have to create newrecipes for the rest of his life to satisfy his wife.

That indeed sounded even more challenging.

Weston took a bite of the dessert. He also nodded and said, “It’s good. It tastes better than the onesyou made. You should study this flavor and explore it when you get back.”

Jovanne nodded.

She loved experimenting with recipes due to Weston’s influence. However, she was still too young. No matter how hardworking she was, there was a limit to her abilities.

Jovanne had decided to accompany her father to his interview to broaden her perspectives.

Unfortunately, she could not follow him into the kitchen for his interview.

She had no choice but to wait for him at the entrance of the manor.

It was Jovanne’s first time witnessing such luxury. The O’Connors’ manor was huge. Although shecould only look at it from the gates, she found it grand and classy.

Some people truly lucked out with the family they were born into.

Jovanne was jealous of Ms. O’Connor for a moment.
