Chapter 3116

Belinda remembered that her marriage was a disaster too. However, she had used forceful meansto make her husband castrate himself and did not have to worry about him cheating on her everagain.

However, as a couple, they were over.

She knew just how much Hunter secretly hated her while Hunter was cognizant that she could notforgive his betrayal.

She just did not consider divorce because of her age and was fine with just staying on guardagainst Hunter.

She was confident she could keep him under her thumb on her own turf.

Decades passed, and Hunter still could not turn the tides under her watch.

Her son and daughter-in-law, however, were still young. Yet, their marriage had broken down to thepoint of no return. She could not ask them to continue like this.novelbin

“I’m going on a trip soon and might be gone for up to two weeks. Once I get back, I’ll talk to Adrian. While I’m gone, you guys should think carefully about it.

“There’s a cool-off period for divorces nowadays too, so you two can treat this as one. You canmove into Hamilton House though—you don’t have to look at Adrian’s face every day.

“Back then, I did think you were a good match for Adrian and paired you guys. I thought you twowould be able to grow old together… It’s my fault.”

Emma did not expect Belinda to agree to talk to Adrian for her. She thought Belinda woulduncompromisingly order them not to divorce.

She consoled, “It’s not your fault, Mom. I was too useless and couldn’t hold onto Adrian’s heart. Iwas only willing to marry him in the first place because I had really fallen for him, not because hewas the eldest Fisher son.”

She had married for love.

She knew very well that the men of the Fisher family could not inherit the family business, but shestill chose to marry Adrian.

When he was unwilling to give up on the successor’s position, she was very supportive of him.

In her view, he was not inferior to Celine.

The couple were originally both walking in the same direction. As they walked though, he took adifferent fork on the road and they were no longer on the same path.

There was no need for a couple whose hearts had strayed from each other to stay together.

People should not tell them to remain together for their kids’ sake either. It was not necessarily agood thing for them.

Just look at Liberty—when she divorced, her son was only two years old. She never said she wouldbear with it for her son.

After the divorce, she had a good life with her son.

Now, Duncan was even romancing her. It was plain as day that divorcees could live well too.

Emma did not think she might necessarily get remarried after the divorce, but the amount of womenAdrian dallied with would at least have nothing to do with her anymore. She would not have to takeit in and be aggravated. She could live her days out just fine.

If they did not get divorced and stayed this way, she was afraid she would get depressed.

“It’s all Adrian’s fault. Once I get back and persuade Adrian to make it an amicable split, you shouldtake whatever you deserve out of your joint assets. I won’t let Adrian treat you unfairly.

“The kids are old enough. You can gently break the news to them once they’ve finished theiruniversity entrance exams.

“You and Adrian are still their parents even after you divorced.”

Emma pursed her lips before saying, “As long as Adrian cooperates, I won’t quarrel with him.”

Of course, she would not give up on anything that should be hers.

That, she did not say out loud.

Belinda was being reasonable, but she was Adrian’s mother, after all. Emma could not tell hereverything.
