Chapter 3115

Belinda was silent for a moment before she gave Elaine a reply. “Let her in.”

With Belinda’s permission, Emma entered the study.

Now that Emma was thoroughly disappointed with Adrian and determined to divorce him, hermindset was totally different now. She was no longer as glamorously dressed as usual.

A cheater would still cheat no matter how well you made yourself up.

Why should she bother to please him then?novelbin

She should just live as she wished.

Emma walked up to Belinda and quietly watched her practice her calligraphy instead of greeting herright away.

After a moment, she said, “Mom, your calligraphy looks very messy right now. Don’t force yourselfto write in a bad mood.

“Everyone has bad days.”

Belinda finished her last word before putting her pen down. Appraising her calligraphy for a bit, shehad to admit that she was in too bad a mood to write nicely. It was incomparable to her usualstandard.

She grabbed that piece of paper and crumpled it into a ball before trashing it.

Then, she got up and walked over to the sofa to sit down.

Emma followed after her and took a seat.

“What did you want to talk about?” Belinda asked calmly.

“I wanted to talk to you about me and Adrian. Mom, I’ve thought about it and I’ve decided to get adivorce from Adrian. I can’t endure any longer, and I refuse to either. Now, whenever I see him, Ijust keep recalling how he was helping Celine strangle me.

“He lost all feelings for me long ago.

“We stayed together for the kids, but I can’t bear it any longer even for their sake.”

After a long silence, Belinda asked, “Is Adrian agreeable to divorce you?”

“He’s not. He even argued with me and said that I was being ridiculous. But I’m serious, Mom—Ifeel disgusted when I see him now.

“If we can’t have a non-contentious divorce, I will go to court. I hope you can persuade Adrian tomake it an amicable split. He likes young and beautiful women, and I’m just granting his wish. Andafter the divorce, he’ll be free from the chains of marriage.” Emma was also speaking calmly—areflection of the state of her heart. Her husband was no longer able to aggravate her.

“Mom, you were the one who thought I was a good match for Adrian in the first place and gotsomeone to introduce us. We ended up dating and getting married, all according to your plans.

“Ever since I married into this family, I don’t think I’ve ever wronged any of you. The only one I havewronged is Caroline. Previously, in order to please you and Celine, I treated Caroline badly andeven did some things that could be considered harmful.” Emma felt she had done her best for theFishers in her marriage.

“Won’t you reconsider? You have been married for over ten years and have children together. They’re at a critical juncture in their education too. If they find out about your divorce, it’ll affect theirstudies.”

“Mom, I’ve thought it through and I don’t want to keep thinking about it. So what if we have childrentogether? Will it stop him from cheating?

“I was useless. I couldn’t hold onto my husband and my marriage.

“After the divorce, I’ll move into Hamilton House, the one you gave us when we got married, withthe kids and tell them we’re moving there because we’ve separated. Adrian never spent much timewith the kids anyway—they won’t ask about him.

“If we meet occasionally, I don’t think the kids will even notice.

“If Adrian still wants the best for his children, I believe he’ll cooperate with me.”

Belinda sighed.
