Chapter 2991

After taking a look at the plants and flowers, Serenity sat back down on the sofa.

Then, she took out her phone to text her sister.

[Duncan’s taken Sonny to the airport. They’ll arrive at night.]novelbin

Liberty soon called.

“Liberty.”

“I got a text from Duncan saying that they’ll reach the airport soon. I’ll wait for them to arrive to have

dinner together.”

On Fridays, Sonny got out of preschool early and it only took a few hours by flight to get to Jensburg

from Wiltspoon. Liberty would be able to have dinner with the both of them upon their arrival if she ate

just a little later.

“Sonny told me his dad went to pick him up?” Liberty asked.

“When I dropped Sonny off at preschool this morning, I bumped into Hank. He said he happened to be

seeing a customer off somewhere nearby, so he dropped by the preschool to see Sonny, but Sonny

had already entered the building.”

Serenity did not believe Hank. “I think he was there on purpose. I think he got jealous when he saw

Sonny and Duncan so close they looked like father and son earlier and wanted to take Sonny back.

“Sonny was really scared of being taken away and said he was going to Jensburg with Duncan.

“I think Sonny’s dislike of going back to the Browns’ place is growing.”

There was sarcasm in Serenity’s words.

The Browns looked like they cared about their only grandson bearing the family name, but one could

tell from the way they behaved that they did not have deep affection for him. Most of the time, they

wanted to take advantage of Sonny.

Though Hank was sincere about Sonny, they were biological father and son after all.

That said, it was Hank himself who had committed adultery, resulting in his and Liberty’s divorce before

marrying his mistress.

However, after learning about Liberty and Duncan’s relationship, he was upset. Although he told Liberty

he would not disturb her again, he would still say all sorts of bad things about Duncan in front of Sonny.

Sonny was bright. He knew very well in his heart who was good to him genuinely and who was not.

Hank might be his biological father, but Sonny did not like hearing Hank speak ill of Duncan so often.

This was why he disliked going to the Browns’.

Liberty was silent for a moment before she said, “Chelsea’s youngest son has always loved bullying

Sonny and still does. Luckily, Sonny’s started learning some self-defense and is a little stronger than

before. If the adults don’t take sides, Lucas can’t beat Sonny.

“The Browns might not take sides anymore, but I can’t say the same for Chelsea. She’s always been a

selfish and self-centered person.

“Seren, you have no idea how shameless Chelsea can be. She actually tried to persuade Sonny to give

her money to keep her business afloat. How could she do that as his aunt? A thirty, forty-year-old

person, trying to cheat a three-year-old kid for his money.”

Serenity cursed Chelsea upon hearing this.

“If Sonny doesn’t want to visit them in the future, let’s not persuade him to go anymore. That family

really can’t change their ways.”

Before Liberty married into the family and got pregnant, they did not slip up and reveal their true colors

“At the time, I thought Hank was dying, alright? He’s Sonny’s father—we had to visit him, at the very

least.”

Liberty wanted even less to have anything to do with the Browns.

She had started a whole new life now, after all.

“Anyway, how are you doing in Jensburg? Has the company stabilized?”
