Chapter 2982

Serenity’s usual car was already parked outside.

A bodyguard opened the door and helped Sonny to get into the car. He fastened his seatbelt as well.

Once Serenity was inside the car, she changed her high heels for flats.

“Have you fastened your seatbelt, Sonny?”

Serenity turned her head and asked.

“The mister did it for me. You can start driving, Aunt Ser.”

Serenity smiled and soon started the car.

Twenty minutes later, two cars stopped at the preschool’s parking lot.

Serenity got out of the car.

Sonny had already unfastened his seat belt and carried his bag. When she opened his door, he got

down and said, “Aunt Ser, remember to tell Dunc to bring my luggage along when he picks me up this

evening.”

“Aren’t you coming back home first?” Serenity teased him.

“Why don’t you have dinner before leaving?”

After some thought, Sonny said, “Dunc won’t let me go hungry. I don’t have to worry about anything

when I’m with him.”

Duncan had already become a father figure to Sonny, like a sturdy tree. With him around, there would

be nothing to fear.

Serenity smiled.

It was great that Sonny had complete trust in Duncan.

Once Duncan and Liberty got married, the three of them would be able to get along well.

Most women who were remarrying were scared of their new husbands and in-laws not being able to

accept their children from their previous marriage. In other cases, the children might have been

accepted but mistreated.

Duncan and the Lewises' attitude toward Sonny was why Liberty had chosen to reciprocate his

feelings.

The Lewises were even prepared for Duncan having Sonny as his only child.

Duncan was not Sonny’s biological son, and Hank still visited Sonny often. Nevertheless, Duncan and

Sonny would definitely be able to build a solid relationship with him raising the child.

Of course, the Lewises would be more than delighted if Liberty was willing to birth a child for Duncan.

At least Duncan would be able to have a child who was related to him by blood.

However, the Lewises never expressed that thought.

They were worried that those words would make Liberty unhappy and affect her relationship with

Duncan.

Having gone through Duncan’s accident and accepting that he could not stand up yet, the Lewises

were constantly walking on eggshells whenever Liberty and Duncan’s relationship was involved. They

feared Liberty would hold grudges and refuse to marry Duncan.

Serenity held Sonny’s hand as they walked.

Not long after, they met Carrie, who was disguised as Mrs. Longbottom.

Carrie had arrived at the preschool’s gates early to wait for Serenity.

She believed that they could gradually become friends by meeting frequently.

She nodded at Serenity and smiled.

“Are you dropping your sister-in-law off, Mrs. Longbottom?”

Carrie replied, “She insisted I bring her here today, so I woke up early.”

Then, she looked toward Sonny, who greeted her politely.

“Your nephew is so adorable,” praised Carrie.

Serenity turned to look at Sonny as well. “All children are cute.”

However, she had not met Mrs. Longbottom’s young sister-in-law yet.

“I’ll be taking my nephew inside now, Mrs. Longbottom.”novelbin

Carrie smiled. “Okay.”

Serenity pulled Sonny along and walked past Carrie.

At that moment, she captured the smell of strong perfume.

Although she rarely used any, she had most of the well-known perfumes and was familiar with their

scents.

Serenity could recognize that Carrie's perfume was only recently launched by a famous brand.

It was an expensive one.
