Chapter 2978

Zachary’s mother came over before his father followed suit.

Then, Austin, thinking that he had caused trouble, followed after them.

Zachary figured it out without asking.

Austin was silent for a moment before he said, “Mom disagreed at first. She said I already have my

own business and I’m running it well. And this year, I started to help out with the family business. She

said that no matter how much I liked cooking, I could just tinker around at home or the hotel and that

there was no need for me to become a private chef.

“Dad was supportive though. He said that as long as I liked it, I could do whatever I wanted. Mom tried

to argue her side with Dad but couldn’t get through to him, and in her anger, she went back to her room

and locked herself in it, not allowing Dad to go in.

“Dad knocked for a long time, but still wasn’t allowed entry, so, thinking that he should let Mom calm

down first, he left. We didn’t expect Mom to take advantage of Dad’s departure to sneak out and come

here. Dad and I thought Mom was in her room this whole time.

“We only found out that Mom was here when she calmed down and texted Dad. Then, we came here

too.”

Feeling a little guilty, Austin said, “Dad and Mom have always had a very good relationship, but they

argued because of my decision. It’s my fault.”

Although he felt that it was his fault, he still did not say that he was going to give up on applying to be

the O’Connors’ private chef.

“There are no couples who don’t argue. Your sister-in-law and I argued a lot, didn’t we? But we’re fine

now. A married couple has to communicate. Everything will be fine once they do unless one party is

being unreasonable and you can’t get through to them.

“None of us would marry an unreasonable person we couldn’t communicate with, so that sort of thing

wouldn’t happen to us.”

Austin listened attentively to Zachary’s lesson on communicating as a couple.

Their elders were all loving and affectionate, setting great examples for him. Although he was notnovelbin

married yet, he knew what a healthy marriage should be like.

“I know, Zack. By the time Dad and I got here, Serenity had already persuaded Mom. She won’t restrict

me from doing what I want now. I have to thank her for persuading Mom for me.”

“Mom was just too heated at the time. She would have understood pretty soon eventually and wouldn’t

have stopped you from doing what you liked. We’re a family, so there’s no need to be so polite.

Serenity is quite good at guiding people, you know.”

Zachary wore a proud look when he said this.

Austin silently endured it as Zachary showed off his love for Serenity.

His brother and sister-in-law showed off their love anytime, anywhere.

Once a person interacted with them for some time, one could not help but crave love and marriage.

“As for your company, I’ll make some time to take a look at whatever you can’t take care of in time.

There’s no need to worry about it.

“You have to be careful. Don’t cause trouble, and be more alert, since you’ll be moving away alone.

“We don’t bully others, but don’t let others bully you either. Just call us if anything happens. Although

you might be a little far away, it’ll only take a few hours for any of us to reach you by private jet.”

Zachary reminded Austin.

“Bring a few men with you. Then at least you’d have them to help you in an emergency.”

“The bodyguards are just for emergencies.”

Since Zachary had said as much, what else could Austin say? He conceded.

He was probably the only one to bring bodyguards with him when he moved away for work.
