“Dunc isn’t free. Aunt Ser picked me up to see the baby. The baby is sleeping. I couldn’t see him.”

When Jane found Laurence, he had only been over a year old. His speech was incoherent at that time.

Sonny agreed. “Aunt Ser said that too. Are you never busy, Uncle Remy? I always see you when I
come to Grandaunt Audrey’s house.”
To Sonny, his Uncle Zak, Uncle Josh, and Dunc were very busy.
“Dunc’s legs were hurt, but he still went to work in a wheelchair. He’s busy, just like Mom. Uncle Remy
isn’t busy at all. If he were, I wouldn’t be seeing him every time I come here.”
Remy smiled. “I’m busy, but I didn’t want Elisa coming over alone. That was why I put my work aside to
give her a ride back.”
Sonny raised his head and innocently asked, “You can get bodyguards to follow her, just like Uncle Zak
did. Aunt Ser had bodyguards following her everywhere. Uncle Zak said he could focus on his work
that way.
“Aunt Ser can fight the bad guys too. She’s amazing. I love Aunt Ser.”
Remy smiled. “You’re right. Serenity is incredible. Elisa also knows how to fight, but I wanted to drive
her back and stay for a meal.”
Sonny put on a smug face. “I knew you did it for the food. Your parents aren’t here, so no one can cook
for you. That’s why you always shamelessly eat in Grandaunt Audrey’s house.”
Remy burst into laughter.
Sonny was too good with words and even called him shameless.

Audrey disapproved of Remy and Elisa dating back then. Whenever he visited, she would treat him
coldly. Nevertheless, he always stayed for meals shamelessly.
Elisa and Serenity turned back to look at the boys briefly before continuing their conversation.
With Sonny talking to him, Remy did not feel bored.
“You’re so clever, Sonny. Yes, I used the excuse of giving Elisa a ride back to stay for a meal because I
don’t have anyone cooking for me.”
Sonny asked again, “Don’t you know how to cook, Uncle Remy?”
All of Uncle Zak’s brothers could cook too.
Remy replied, “I do.”
“Why don’t you cook for yourself, then?”
“Eating alone doesn’t feel right. Don’t you think food tastes better when more people are eating
