“You two can continue at that side of the room. Don’t disturb me working,” Hayden said after downing
half a cup of coffee. She wanted nothing to do with this.
“I’ll leave right now. I won’t disturb you any longer.”
Hugh quickly sat on the sofa in the lounge area, and Kevin followed suit.

Instead, he took out his phone and played the recording. He did record the bitchy words Hugh had
said.
Hugh tried to snatch the phone, but Kevin slapped his hand away.
“Let’s talk this out, Kevin. What do I have to do to make you delete this recording?”
Hugh knew how much his parents adored Kevin. Even if he did not mean what he said and was just
being sarcastic, his parents would still beat him up for trying to ruin Hayden and Kevin’s relationship.
Kevin leaned backward and looked toward Hayden, who was focused on her work and ignoring them.
Hugh followed his gaze. Then, he whispered in Kevin’s ear, “Do you want to have sex with my sister?”
Kevin glared at him. He whispered back, “I’m a gentleman. I respect your sister, and I won’t cross the
line before we have the wedding and get our marriage license.”
Hugh gave him a thumbs-up. He complimented, “You’re a true man, Kevin. The York men are the best.
“While I’m dense and stupid, Kevin. I’m not as smart as Hayden. If you need me to do something for
her, just let me know, and I’ll do my best to execute it. Even if it’s beyond my abilities, I’ll still put in my
best effort.”
Kevin deliberately patted Hugh’s head as he would a puppy’s. He smiled and said, “You’re smart,
Hugh. You aren’t inferior to Hayden and can handle the company independently. You were only living a
relaxed life all along because Hayden was there to shoulder everything.”
