Chapter 2775

“Kevin.”

Hayden was in a good mood, speaking with a hint of a smile.

On the other end of the phone, Kevin felt pleasantly surprised. He chuckled. “Hay, what got you so

cheerful? Even saying my name comes with a smile. I’ve known you for so long, and this isn’t

something that happens often.”

Hayden had affection for him, but her attitude toward Kevin was often icy.novelbin

That was also Hayden’s personality; she had developed a demeanor of indifference and seriousness.

“Do you wish I were in a bad mood?”

“Definitely not! I wish you to be in a good mood every day, carefree and happy. But you carry such a

heavy burden, which leads to immense pressure and the absence of a smile. Every time I see Hugh

smiling carelessly, I feel like sticking tape over his mouth.”

Kevin’s beloved was tirelessly dedicated to managing Queen Enterprise.

Yet, Hugh had plenty of time to spend with his female friends, one after another, without settling down

with anyone.

Hayden chuckled. “Then go and seal his mouth shut. Honestly, sometimes when I see him carefree, I

envy him too.”

As the eldest, Hayden habitually shouldered all responsibilities for her brother.

To add to that, Hayden had been dressing as a man and never thought about reverting to a feminine

identity. Hayden kept carrying the heavy burden, thinking that allowing her brother to lead a happy and

carefree life was worth it.

After Kevin came into her life, Hayden gradually began to envy her brother.

Now, Hayden even arranged more work for Hugh, just as she would as she had told him before that

someday, Queen Enterprise would be left in his hands.

Hayden could not possibly sustain this forever.

Hayden also wished for someone to rely on, to support her, and Kevin was that dependable person.

“You don’t have to envy him. He’ll envy you in the future. As long as you gradually hand over the

company’s affairs to him, we can relax. Hay, why not do as I do, only manage the hotel’s operations?

That way, I can help you more.

“I’ve been running hotels for years, I’m experienced. Handling a few more hotels for you wouldn’t be an

issue. That way, you can take it easy.”

“Let’s talk about it later. Is there something you need?”

Kevin chuckled. “I don’t need a reason to call you, do I? I’ll come pick you up later, and we can have

dinner together, with Liberty and Duncan.

“Duncan is currently accompanying Liberty to Fisher Manor. They’ll be back soon.”

Hayden knew that he likely called to ask her out.

He was someone she secretly admired.

Despite his heavy workload, he had years of experience of working in management. Plus, he had

competent subordinates, so he did not have to handle everything personally. As long as he managed

things properly, he could have it easy.

His brothers helped share his workload secretly so he could pursue Hayden without distraction. She

knew all about it too.

Admittedly, once she interacted with the York family, she started to like the warm and harmonious

atmosphere there. There was a sense of warmth only her home could give her.

Her family also had the same welcoming environment, but due to a small family, it was not as lively as

the Yorks.

No wonder her parents were eager to marry her into a family like the Yorks. For parents with daughters,

a household like the Yorks was as elusive as finding a needle in a haystack.

“Okay, then come pick me up after work. Don’t come early, as it might affect my work. I have to attend a

banquet tomorrow night, you can come along as my boyfriend.”

Kevin chuckled. “Every time you attend a banquet, I was there with you. I don’t want to be your

boyfriend anymore; I want to be your husband, someone who spends a lifetime with you.”

Hayden scolded him for being thick-skinned, while not explicitly stating the meaning behind her words.

She asked him to the banquet with her as her boyfriend. She intended to wear a dress to the banquet,

and planned to take half a day off so she could return to Queen Manor and ask her mother to help her

pick an evening gown. At the same time, she would practice walking in high heels. She did not want to

embarrass herself by struggling to walk in high heels at the banquet.
