Chapter 2770

Hearing the last two sentences from Zachary, Josh chuckled. “I don’t nag you, but you have no idea

how busy and tired I am. We agreed before that when you’re back, you’d let me take a few days off. I

have to remind you so you’ll keep your word.

“And also, you promised that next year when Jasmine gives birth, I get a two-month paternity leave.”

Zachary replied, “It’s not like you’re the one giving birth. Why do you need that long of a paternity

leave? Taking one month off is enough to take care of your wife during her postpartum recovery.

“Plus, so many members in your family are around. After postpartum, you won’t need to take care of

her. I indeed promised to give you two months of leave at that time, and I thought it was quite

generous. Yet, you still find it insufficient.”

Josh retorted, “When Serenity gives birth, and if you manage to come to the office every day, work as

usual, and don’t want to take care of your wife during her postpartum, then I’ll only take a one-monthnovelbin

paternity leave. I may not be the one giving birth, but as a husband, I should be by my wife’s side when

she needs help the most.”

Zachary responded, “Well, let’s see how it goes. If the company isn’t too busy at that time, I’ll give you

a three-month leave. Is that okay?”

Considering the situation, Josh also wished that he could be with his wife when she gave birth, offering

a helping hand.

More care should be taken especially during the crucial postpartum period.

Josh quickly said, “Serenity, you heard that, right? Zachary said he’ll give me a three-month leave

when the time comes.”

Serenity laughed, “I heard it. Don’t worry, I’ll be your witness. When the time comes, I’ll make sure

Zachary fulfills his promise.”

Jasmine was a few months earlier than her, and the baby was due in May next year.

With New Year’s approaching, Josh had already discussed her paternity leave for next year.

Feeling relieved, Josh got up and said to Zachary, “I’ll go back to work. I’ll finish what I have in hand

today, and tomorrow, I’ll be on a break.”

Having secured two days off, Josh was on cloud nine.

“Help me lock the office door on your way out.”

Zachary reminded his friend.

Josh chuckled. “Don’t need to tell me twice. When I go out, I’ll definitely lock it for you. Feel free to flirt

with each other. You don’t have to worry about anyone eavesdropping.”

Josh left with a cheerful smile.

After Josh left, Zachary asked his wife, “Seren, do you want to have dinner at the Italian place? The

weather is getting colder, and Italian food just hits the spot.”

“Sure.”

Serenity had not had Italian food for a long time.

Earlier, when she heard Josh mention that Jasmine wanted to have Italian, she had considered treating

them to a meal. In the end, she did not voice it as she wanted to let the young couple enjoy some alone

time.

She was much luckier than her friend. At home, no one would complain if she wanted to eat something.

As long as she expressed a desire to eat, Zachary would do his best to satisfy her.

Anything out of Zachary’s control could be accomplished with just a word from Grandma May.

Jasmine, on the other hand, would get nagged, mainly by the nutritionist who was hired by the Bucham

family. Coincidentally, she was also Josh’s cousin, Mrs. Bucham’s niece. Due to their familial ties,

Jasmine did not want to cause any unpleasantness with her cousin over food.
