Chapter 2769

“Remy and Elisa have sent them off to take the plane.”

Josh said, “They’ve only been here for a couple of days, and they’re already leaving. I haven’t had the

time to invite Mr. Young-Johnson for dinner yet.”

Serenity smiled and replied, “When you have time, you can fly to Annenburg to have dinner with Ben.

His visit this time was simply to bring Laurence and play with Sonny for a couple of days.”

“I don’t have any free time now. I can’t get away. Zachary just ended his honeymoon and returned to

work today. I’m so busy that I don’t even have time for a cup of water.”

Josh complained of his fatigue to Serenity.

“I’m taking the day off tomorrow. I haven’t told Zachary yet. If he disagrees, Serenity, help me persuade

him. It’s been non-stop for a month. Tomorrow’s leave is not for rest, it’s to accompany Jasmine to the

hospital for the prenatal checkup.”

Serenity readily agreed, “Sure, if Zachary disagrees with your leave, I’ll talk to him. You’ve been

working hard lately. If needed, I’ll ask Zachary to give you a couple of days off. You don’t have to apply

for leave, and you can spend some quality time with Jasmine.”

After their wedding, the couple enjoyed a relaxing honeymoon period. Although they did not travel out

of the city, they were in their own little world undisturbed, thanks to Josh and other high-level managers

who shared the workload.

Now that Zachary was back to work, it was an opportune time for Josh to take a short break.

Josh continued, “Taking two days off would be great. The weather is getting colder. Jasmine keeps

saying she wants to have Italian food. I haven’t had the time to take her out for it. We can make it at

home, but my cousin will nag about it. Jasmine says she’ll be criticized for eating Italian at home,

making it less enjoyable. She wants to eat out.

“After her checkup tomorrow, I’ll take her out to the Italian place in the evening. After Jasmine gets

pregnant, she wants to eat whatever she’s craving immediately. Serenity, do you also get like that?”

“Same here. When I think of eating something, I can’t wait to have it right away.”

Zachary came out of his private lounge, quietly closing the door so that their conversation would not

disturb Sonny.

As he got out of the room, he went to pour a cup of water for his wife and added some glucose powder.

Serenity did not like plain water and he got used to adding a bit of glucose powder to add some flavor

for her to enjoy.

“Honey, carry on your discussion with Josh. I’ll sit here for a while. When you’re done for today, we can

leave together.”

Serenity, afraid of taking up her husband’s precious time, took the cup of water and urged him to go

about his business.

“There’s nothing left to deal with.”

Zachary sat down beside Serenity and asked gently, “Were you tired of taking care of Sonny today on

your own?”

“Not really, no. Laurence was there to keep him company, I only had to keep an eye on them. Plus,

there were bodyguards to help take care of him, so I’m not tired at all.

“Honey, go on with your work. Oh, by the way, Mr. Bucham has been busy for so long, and you’ve justnovelbin

returned to work, why don’t you give him a couple of days off? Let him rest. He also said that he’s

taking Jasmine for a checkup tomorrow.

“I’ll go check on the company tomorrow. If there’s nothing urgent, I’ll spend two days at the bookstore.

In the meantime, Jasmine could also use that two-day rest.”

After Sonny came back from preschool, the housekeeper could pick him up and then send him to her

store.

It was just for a day or two. When Duncan eventually came back from Jensburg, he would be eager to

pick up Sonny after school.

Zachary heard the conversation between his wife and Josh. He readily agreed. “Sure, Josh, take two

days off. Rest well for the next couple of days. Take your wife out for a nice meal at the Italian place.

Seren, you don’t understand this guy. Every time I return to the company, he complains to me about not

having time to take his wife out for a meal. He’s been going on about it so much that I start to feel

guilty.”

Josh chuckled. “Thanks, Mr. York.”
