Chapter 2750

“She’s doing great. She’s handling some things now. Don’t underestimate her. She’s been through

many ups and downs. Her parents passed away when she was fifteen. Despite having vicious and

greedy relatives, she raised and educated her ten-year-old sister well.

“Those who have gone through hard times are especially strong-willed.”

Kevin finally understood why Audrey had chosen Liberty to compete against Caroline in Jensburg.

“It’s a relief that she isn’t too shocked.”

Kevin smiled. “Are you getting off work now? Oh, by the way, I brought you a present.”

He retrieved a box from his suit pocket and gave it to Hayden.

Hayden accepted it, but she did not open the box. Instead, she went to her office table and placed it

into the drawer.

“Aren’t you going to take a look?”

“No. Anything you give is the best. I’ll look at it when I’m free and savor your love for me.”

Kevin stared at Hayden. She seemed gentler, and reciprocated his feelings openly.

He had succeeded in advancing a step further.

Kevin was over the moon.

Belinda was looking out of the windows of a luxury ward in the hospital.

The patient on the bed was Hunter. He was still pale and in a lot of pain.

He kept his eyes closed most of the time, but he would occasionally take a peek at his wife, who stood

before the windows, before quickly closing his eyes again.

No one visited him.

Belinda had hidden his self-castrating incident and left him with a shred of dignity to face his children.

After some time, Belinda turned around and sat by the bed. Looking at Hunter, who was pretending to

sleep, she said coldly, “I know you’re not asleep.”

Hunter could not sleep because of the pain.

The painkillers had worn off.

Belinda did not ask the doctors to administer more painkillers to Hunter. He was left to endure the pain

as punishment for being a scumbag.

What elation he had felt when he cheated on her had all transformed into suffering.

Hunter opened his eyes and looked toward Belinda. He smiled bitterly, “I already did as you said. Can

you cool down now?”

Belinda stared at him momentarily before saying, “I didn’t chase you out of the family. Cool down? It’s

good enough that I didn’t die from anger after you and Celine did that. Do you expect me to calm down

overnight?”

“What else do you want me to do?”

Belinda touched her partner’s face. “You’ve maintained your face well. You look like you’re in your

forties or fifties. No wonder you can still attract young women outside.”

After speaking, she pinched Hunter’s face hard. Despite the pain, he dared not resist her and simply let

her pinch him.

After releasing his face, Belinda said, “You sound resentful. I gave you a choice. You could’ve chosen

the less painful option. You can’t blame me when you’re the one who puts yourself in pain.”

Hatred filled Hunter’s being, yet he dared not express it. He said, “I don’t resent you. I’m just in too

much pain… Can you get the doctor to give me more painkillers?”

“It’s fine as long as you don’t get infections. As for the pain, it’ll eventually stop when the wound heals.”

Belinda refused to give her husband painkillers. She wanted to see him feeling helpless, and in agony.novelbin

Those who betrayed her could not be let off easily.
