Chapter 2695

Mr. Longbottom laughed heartily. Then, he looked at her and said, “Ms. Carrie, this may not be up to

you. It’s best if you agree. Even if you don’t agree, you’ll have to, because I’ve approached you. I can’t

let you expose me. Otherwise, I’ll have to silence you.

“I will also make you die a painful death. You’ve seen my men, there are more than ten of them.”

Carrie’s face turned deathly pale.

“Ms. Carrie, do you choose to be with me, or do you choose death? I’ll give you a few minutes to

consider.”

Carrie glanced at the dozen or so men in black.

Then she looked at Mr. Longbottom. Who exactly was this man?

He spoke of killing without hesitation.

Could he be a serial killer?

Carrie suddenly sank to her knees.

“Mr. Longbottom, please spare my life. I don’t want to die. I’m only twenty years old, and I don’t want to

die.”

Her life had just begun.

Mr. Longbottom stood up, walked over to her, and lifted her.

Carrie understood his intentions. Her face grew even paler, but she made no resistance.

After an unknown amount of time, the two emerged.

Carrie’s face was marked with tear streaks, and her eyes were filled with hatred.

Mr. Longbottom embraced her as they returned to the sofa. He said to her, “Ms. Carrie, don’t blame

me. If you must hate someone, hate the people you already hate. It’s because of them that I discovered

your existence and thought you would be a good business partner.”

The one committing the wrongdoing was him, but he made Carrie resent people like Serenity and

Camryn.

Mr. Longbottom took out tissues and wiped away Carrie’s tears. He comforted her, “Alright, stop

crying.”

With that, he once again pulled out his wallet, took a bank card, and gave it to Carrie. He said, “There’s

two million in this for you to spend however you wish. The cash in the bag is still yours.”

Carrie accepted the bank card. After wiping her tears, she asked, “What do you want me to do?”

“To approach Serenity, the young missus of the Yorks whom you despise, with a new identity. However,

you are not allowed to harm her, as doing so will alert our enemies. You must find a way to befriend her

and earn her complete trust, have her trust you as she trusted Jasmine.

“Also, build a good relationship with the little boy around her. Let her nephew, Sonny, take a fancy to

you as well.”

Carrie listened obediently.

Even if she were foolish, she knew that ever since the day she was released from prison, she had been

targeted by certain individuals and treated as a pawn.

These people saw her as a pawn for a reason—her undying resentment toward Serenity.

She could feel invisible nets spreading, trying to ensnare Serenity.

She did not know who Serenity had offended to attract so many unwelcome guests. What was even

more perplexing was that these guests, instead of directly approaching Serenity, took a circuitous route

and ended up at Carrie’s doorstep.

“Serenity has close ties with Jane Young-Johnson from Annenburg. She has an adopted son who gets

along with Sonny. If one day you can see the adopted son, find a way to bring him to me.”

Mr. Longbottom’s true target was Laurence.

Carrie remained silent.
