Chapter 2683

Zachary found it hilarious. “No wonder they’re best friends. I was forced to take Sonny out because he

knocked on my door.

“Ben, why don’t you join us?”

Zachary invited Ben and Laurence to go for a walk with them.

Ben smiled. “Okay. I probably can’t fall back asleep anyway.”

He told Laurence, “You can take Sonny to play ahead of us, but don’t go too far.”

“It should be Sonny bringing Laurence around. You two are our guests. We should be proper hosts.”

The children had already run off hand in hand.

Ben said, “Laurence has a good memory. He memorized the route here after only one visit and could

even remember the plants along the roads. He recognizes more plant species than me now.”

Zachary said, “Look at who his mentor is. Dr. Carden is an expert in both medicines and poisons.

Although Lilian did not spend much time teaching Laurence one-on-one, he had the miracle healer. He

learned about many herbs during the time he spent with the miracle healer.

They knew Laurence had an extraordinary memory.

“Laurence is a good boy.”

“You only saw the better side of him. You don’t know how bossy he can get. When we first found him,

he only slept and ate. He didn’t talk much, so we initially thought he was just a glutton who wasn’t thatnovelbin

bright.

“Boy were we wrong.”

Although Ben was complaining about his son, he had a smile on his face and a gaze filled with love.

Laurence was still a little scared of his adoptive father. He dared not address him as Dad and continued

calling him Uncle Ben. On the other hand, Jane was his mama. However, he switched to “Mommy

Jane” ever since he knew that he was not her biological son.

Zachary said, “I bet you’re happy on the inside. Laurence is clever and adorable.”

Ben chuckled. “It’s good that he’s a bright kid. He won’t be bullied in the future. It’ll be great if my twins

can be half as bright as he is.”

“Like father, like son. Connor won’t be that far off. You shouldn’t complain about your son too much.

Others might think you’re favoring your daughter over him.”

“Well, everyone in Annenburg knows that Chloe’s my favorite.”

Zachary said, “You look smug.”

Ben laughed. “If Serenity gives birth to a son and a daughter, I bet you’ll spoil your daughter more than

your son. We’re pretty much the same.”

“If I have a daughter, I think I won’t be able to hold her. The elders are going to fight over her.”

Upon recalling that the York family had yet to have a daughter for generations, Ben nodded, “Touché.”

Clo-clo was adored by all because no baby girls were born in her generation. It could only be worse for

the Yorks.

“Are you here for business? Or is it about Remy and Elisa?”

“I have a meeting at the company tomorrow, so I came a day early. We also wanted to drop by and

travel around here for a few days.

“But yes, I’m here for business,” Ben added.

“Remy and Elisa’s marriage is settled. They’ll decide when the wedding will be held. Our family is

prepared either way. We’re just waiting for their call.

“I thought you were still at Wildridge Manor. Laurence said he video-called Sonny a few days ago.

Sonny said you guys were moving back to the city. I guess your wedding leave is almost over.”

Zachary confirmed it. “I have to return to the office tomorrow. The month flew by. My wedding felt like

yesterday. My holiday is over in the blink of an eye.”

“Yeah, time flies indeed. It feels like Jane and I just got married. Before we know it, we already have

two children.”

Zachary said as they walked, “You even had two in one go.

“The boys are too fast. We should run and catch up to them.”
