Chapter 2681

The night went by.

It was Sunday.

Sonny, who did not have to go to preschool, woke up early.

He knocked on Serenity’s door and Zachary opened the door for him.

“Is Aunt Ser awake, Uncle Zak? I want to play with her.”

Zachary took a few deep breaths. He told himself not to get angry at a child.

He said gently, “It’s still early, Sonny. Why don’t you sleep a little longer? You usually insist on sleeping

in even though you need to go to school, yet you’re up early on days you don’t have to.”

Sonny pouted. “I couldn’t fall back asleep after waking up, Uncle Zak. There’s no one I can play with,

so I came to look for Aunt Ser.”

He was living in Zachary’s private villa in the city, not Wildridge Manor where he could have fun with

other children without disturbing Serenity.

Zachary lifted Sonny and said, “Serenity’s still asleep. I’ll play with you. What do you want to do?”

“I want to play outside.”

“Isn’t it better to play with toys indoors?”

Sonny shook his head. “Playing with toys alone isn’t fun. You don’t play with toys anyway.”

Zachary smiled. “Okay. I’ll take you out for a morning run, okay? Wait for me to get changed.”

He brought Sonny into the room and put him down. He said, “Don’t wake your aunt up. I’m going to

change.”

Sonny nodded.

After Zachary got his activewear and changed into running shorts, he walked out while sliding into his

T-shirt. He was worried Sonny would wake Serenity from her sleep.

When he saw Sonny waiting obediently, he was relieved.

“Let’s go. I’ll take you out for a walk.”

Sonny followed him out happily.

“When’s my mom coming back, Uncle Zak?”

“I don’t know for sure. Do you miss her?”

Sonny replied, “Yeah, I miss her when I’m in bed at night.”

He did not miss her as much when he had fun during the day.

“I’ll take you to visit her when we have time.”

“Will you keep your promise, Uncle Zak?”

Zachary smiled. “When did I ever lie to you?”

Sam, the butler, was watering the plants in the garden. He greeted the duo when he saw them coming

out.

At that moment, the doorbell rang.

Zachary’s phone rang too.

Sam said, “I’ll get the door.”

He put the watering can down and went to the entrance.

Zachary stopped. It was Ben who called. He was surprised, yet not entirely unexpected. Remy and

Elisa’s relationship was going well. Their families were already discussing their marriage.

However, Elisa insisted on getting engaged first and having the wedding after Serenity gave birth. She

did not want Serenity to attend her wedding with a big belly as it could be dangerous with many people

around.

Ben was the eldest brother among the Johnsons. It was only natural for him to tag along with his

parents when they visited.

Remy was his younger brother after all.

Zachary answered Ben’s call.

“Are you at home, Zachary?”novelbin

“Yes.”
